The truth about facial lead removal

The truth about facial lead removal

Lead is a common metal element in nature. If the human body takes too much lead, it will cause poisoning. However, there is lead in some daily necessities in our daily lives, and the most common one is the cosmetics used by women, which will add some lead elements in moderation. If you use lead-containing cosmetics for a long time, lead will be left on your face. So what is the truth about those hospitals that can detoxify facial lead?

Lead in the skin

"Plastic surgery and dermatology departments of regular hospitals do not carry out 'facial lead removal'. The so-called lead removal in beauty salons has no scientific basis and is purely a commercial gimmick. The black substance wiped off the face may just be dust in the pores." Zhang Fengchuan, director of the Department of Dermatology at Beijing University of Chinese Medicine Oriental Hospital, told reporters.

Zhang Fengchuan introduced that human skin structure is very dense and is the first barrier to protect the human body from external invasion. It not only prevents harmful substances from the outside from entering the body, but also protects the loss of body fluids, electrolytes and proteins. Lead, as a heavy metal, exists in the human body in the form of ions and cannot be excreted through instruments.

At the same time, most of the lead in the human body accumulates in the bones, and the lead content in the skin is extremely trace. However, experts say that some unqualified cosmetics do contain lead, and the oil components and trace amounts of heavy metals may enter the skin through the hair follicles and sebaceous glands, so some inferior cosmetics should be used less. However, heavy metals such as lead and mercury in air pollution and newspaper ink are difficult to enter the skin because of their large molecular weight and non-fat soluble substances.

Frequent "lead removal" can easily lead to aging skin

Many people who love beauty have reported that their skin does become shiny after "face lead removal". Zhang Fengchuan explained that in the process of beauty treatment, frequent massage of the face with instruments can easily remove the stratum corneum on the face, so the skin will naturally look whiter than before, thus giving people the illusion that "lead removal" has caused the skin to become whiter. However, the stratum corneum is a barrier that protects the skin from invasion of external pollutants. Frequent removal of the stratum corneum will make the skin thinner, fragile and susceptible to infection. In addition, repeatedly removing the stratum corneum will make the stratum corneum thicker after a period of time, and the skin will look rougher and darker.

Experts also remind women to take care of their skin scientifically. If the facial skin is dirty, just clean it with clean water or facial cleanser. For people with active skin secretion, it is recommended to wash it several times with running water; you can also first apply a hot towel to your face to fully open the pores, and then clean it with a facial cleanser.

"Facial lead removal" discharges black matter

"Long-term use of cosmetics, or the influence of smog, may cause a large amount of lead to be retained in the skin, causing dull skin. Regularly removing lead from the skin can make the face smooth, fair and tender" ... The reporter found that many beauty salons in Beijing use the slogan "lead removal" to attract customers.

Ms. Zhou, who has experienced "face lead removal", told reporters that the beautician squeezed out particles of a substance called "lead removal capsules" and applied them on the face, and then used a beauty instrument to rub the particles back and forth on the face. After a few minutes, the face felt slightly warm and the beautician was able to wipe out some black substance from the face with tissue paper.
