People's environmental awareness has become stronger with the development of society. The human body is the capital of revolution, and physical health is the most important. People generally choose better decoration materials when decorating, which is not only environmentally friendly, but also durable and wear-resistant. Putty powder is a material often used in decoration. Does putty contain formaldehyde? Let’s take a look at it next. 1. Does putty powder contain formaldehyde? 1. Generally speaking, putty powder is a natural inorganic mineral and is non-toxic. It’s just that putty for engineering is usually prepared on site, and in order to increase the adhesion of putty powder, a large amount of construction glue (rich in formaldehyde) is added to it, which makes people afraid of formaldehyde. Other projects may also use clear oil or lacquer and other resin-like thickeners when preparing putty powder. The volatile substances are slightly toxic and the content is very low. The volatile substances are restricted by relevant standards and basically will not have much impact. 2. Putty for construction is divided into ordinary putty and water-resistant putty. Ordinary putty is for indoor use only, usually composed of heavy calcium powder (or double fly powder) plus glue powder (that is, modified starch glue with cellulose). The main component of calcium powder is calcium carbonate, which is generally speaking a fine powder ground from stone; it does not contain formaldehyde. The materials used in the production of modified starch glue and carboxymethyl cellulose for interior wall putty basically do not contain oily solvents, so they are not rich in formaldehyde. 3. Water-resistant putty is made of lime powder or cement as inorganic gelling material, heavy calcium powder (or double fly powder) as filler, redispersible latex powder, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose and other additives. The main component of lime powder is calcium hydroxide (the main component of slaked lime), which and cement are well known to us and cannot contain formaldehyde. 4. Redispersible latex powder is made by spray drying of emulsion. We all agree that latex paint with emulsion as the main bonding material does not contain formaldehyde. We can be more assured that redispersible latex powder has been used in Europe for decades. Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose is a powder that is completely soluble in water. It is also used in some foods and is completely formaldehyde-free. 2. Is putty powder toxic? 1. The finished putty is produced based on reasonable material proportions and mechanized methods, avoiding the errors caused by on-site proportioning in traditional processes and the problem of quality assurance. It is green and environmentally friendly, non-toxic and odorless, does not contain formaldehyde, benzene, xylene and volatile harmful substances, can be used after adding water, is easy to operate and has a simple process. 2. Putty powder is made of a small amount of paint base, a large amount of filler and an appropriate amount of coloring pigment. The pigments used are mainly iron red, carbon black, chrome yellow, etc. The fillers are mainly calcium bicarbonate, talc and the like. It can fill in the partially depressed working surface or scrape off the entire surface. It is usually applied on the surface of the primer layer after the primer layer is completely dry. It is required to have good adhesion and no cracks during baking. 3. The main component of putty powder is hemihydrate gypsum (plaster of Paris) powder, which is hemihydrate calcium sulfate (Caso4.H2o), and light calcium carbonate or white cement is occasionally added. Formula: 70-75% white powder (heavy calcium carbonate), 20-25% gypsum powder, 2-2.5% carboxymethyl cellulose powder, 2-2.5% retarder, and 0.4-0.6% thickener. 4. "Putty" itself is a standard premixed type invented for the purposes of environmental protection, health, ease of use, and as a substitute for non-standard powders. If you still need to mix it yourself after buying it, I think it can't even be called "putty". Moreover, the quality of unfinished putty powder on the market cannot be guaranteed, so it is unknown whether it is toxic. 3. Notes Formaldehyde is a common decoration pollution that people encounter during the decoration process. It is very harmful to the human body. Being in an environment with excessive formaldehyde for a long time will not only make people feel uncomfortable, but in severe cases it may cause blindness. Be sure to eliminate formaldehyde before moving. |
