How to treat hand tremors in young people

Many young friends will find their hands shaking inadvertently. Generally, in our impression, only older people have shaking hands, but many young people also have shaking hands. Why is that? Sometimes hand tremors are not caused by any disease, but sometimes they are hinting that you have some illness. Don’t panic. Today, let’s take a look at how to treat hand tremors in young people with the editor.

Hand tremors are divided into physiological tremors and pathological tremors.

Physiological

Hand tremors have small amplitudes and fast speeds, and often occur when the hand is stationary. They are small, fast, and irregular tremors. Physiological hand tremors often occur when one is under mental stress, fear, emotional excitement, severe pain, or extreme fatigue. Once the above causes of hand tremors are eliminated, the hand tremors will also disappear.

Pathological hand tremor

Medically known as "tremor", it refers to involuntary tremors of the hands, which are often permanent. There are two main types of hand tremors: static hand tremors and dynamic hand tremors. Among them, static hand tremor is the hand tremor that occurs when the muscles are completely relaxed, that is, in a quiet state. This type of hand tremor disappears during sleep, with a frequency of 4-6 times per second and a relatively regular pattern. It is a typical disease such as Parkinson's syndrome. Sports tremor is a tremor that only occurs during exercise, and the tremor becomes more severe when the movement approaches the target.

For example, when a doctor performs the finger-to-nose test on a patient, he asks the patient to straighten his forearm and then point his index finger at the tip of his nose. The closer the tip of the index finger is to the tip of the nose, the more obvious the hand tremor will be. Motor tremors are irregular, with large amplitudes, and are aggravated by emotions. They are common in lesions of the cranial nerves and upper limb nerves.

Common diseases that cause pathological hand tremors clinically include upper limb nerve diseases and injuries, brain tissue diseases, and drug-induced hand tremors.

Hand tremors are common among the elderly. The constant shaking of both hands has seriously affected eating and writing, which makes the elderly very distressed. Medically, this shaking is called tremor. Although tremor manifests as shaking of the hands, the root cause is mostly in the anterior cruciate lateral lobes. Due to certain diseases, the area of the anterior cruciate lateral lobes responsible for motor coordination is damaged, causing tremor.

Clinically, Parkinson's disease, cerebral arteriosclerosis, midbrain or cerebellar lesions, hepatic encephalopathy, drug poisoning, dementia, etc. may all cause hand tremors in the elderly. Medical research has found that eating broad beans and coffee can effectively control tremors. Family members can appropriately feed the elderly more of these two foods.

If pathological factors are excluded, another common cause of hand tremors is psychological factors.

Reduce self-focus

What it means is that you shift your focus to the specific situation you are facing, rather than focusing on your feelings. This is very important. When you find yourself paying attention to whether your face is red or your heart is beating faster, the activity of your nervous system will be involuntarily activated or strengthened. By paying less attention to it, you can give it a rest, and the intensity of the impulse will naturally weaken. In order to reduce the focus on yourself, you must learn to focus on your real problems in the situation you are in, such as your application, your examiner, your environment, etc.

Give up control

It means that usually when we find ourselves feeling unnatural, blushing, or having trembling hands, we will consciously or unconsciously make efforts to control these reactions. The problem is that the work of the autonomic nervous system is difficult to be controlled by our consciousness in a short period of time. Therefore, the harder we try to control, the more likely we are to find that our control is ineffective, and as a result, we end up in a state of tension or even anxiety. But if we give up the intention to control and ignore it, it will go out automatically. Giving up the intention of control requires you to be aware of the worst consequences and be able to accept them calmly: at worst, I can fail in this application, but I can always make a comeback! I am still young, I am not afraid of temporary setbacks, and I will not be discouraged!

Cultivate an attitude of acceptance

What it means is that we have to learn to make friends with our symptoms. When we find ourselves shaking hands or blushing, we should not become an enemy of it, fight it, or try to control it, but learn to accept it. We can say to ourselves: I am just a little timid and shy, and that’s nothing. Come on, just blush and tremble. If you can say this to yourself (i.e. talk to yourself), the nervous system will work less intensely and have less impact on us. And our confrontation strengthens it. Accept it, it's okay. If you can live peacefully with the symptoms, you will definitely be fine. With an accepting attitude, you can overcome hardness with softness and win with wisdom.
