Will tuberculous pleurisy get better after one week of anti-inflammatory treatment?

Pleurisy is a common disease in life, and patients with pleurisy must be hospitalized for treatment in time, otherwise it may be life-threatening. Pleurisy will make patients feel extreme pain in the chest. There is a kind of pleurisy called tuberculous pleurisy. This kind of pleurisy is different from other pleurisy. It is more difficult to treat, and tuberculosis needs to be treated after treatment. So will there be improvement in a week of anti-inflammatory treatment for pleurisy?

First, tuberculous pleurisy itself improves more slowly than other tuberculosis.

Second, the effect of oral tuberculosis drugs is lower than that of intravenous drugs.

Third, any treatment of tuberculosis is a long process and must be treated with regular medication throughout the entire process.

Early tuberculous pleurisy, if there is water accumulation, requires hospitalization. The specific treatment methods are:

Drug treatment, oral or infusion anti-tuberculosis drugs;

Supportive therapy, infusing some protein or amino acids to promote the absorption of accumulated water;

Drain the accumulated fluid. When the accumulated fluid exceeds a certain amount, it will compress the lungs and heart, causing a series of symptoms, such as shortness of breath, palpitations, etc.

Hormone therapy: Early use of hormones in tuberculous pleural effusion can promote the absorption of effusion and reduce complications, such as reducing the chance of pleural thickening after recovery;

Symptomatic treatment is provided, and corresponding medications can be used if there is fever or other symptoms.

You just need to have a general understanding of these methods. Now all you need to do is go to a regular general hospital or the best tuberculosis hospital for inpatient treatment. Do not use ordinary anti-inflammatory drugs (special anti-tuberculosis drugs are needed). When you are almost recovered, you only need oral treatment. Moreover, the country now has a free policy for tuberculosis. You can get oral medications for free at the Disease Prevention and Control Center at or above the county level.

Tuberculosis is a common disease with a high cure rate. Tuberculous pleurisy is a type of tuberculosis with relatively obvious symptoms and an acute onset, but it is well treated and easy to recover from, so please rest assured.
