Quilt bacteria removal

Quilt bacteria removal

Everyone should cover themselves with a quilt when they sleep, because the body is very fragile when sleeping, and once the cold wind blows in, it will cause a cold. However, since the quilt is not exposed to sunlight in the bedroom for a long time, it is easy to breed mites and other bacteria, which can cause great harm to the human body. So many people will try to find ways to remove bacteria from quilts. Today I will teach you some tips on how to remove bacteria from quilts.

Effective methods for sterilizing quilts

1. Take off the quilt cover, put the laundry detergent in the bucket and make foam under the faucet, then put the quilt in and soak for half an hour

2. Then wash it for the first time to remove dirt, pour out the dirty water and wash it again to sterilize it slightly (if there are tools in the place, you can use a laundry stick to beat it)

3. The third time is relatively clean, pour in an appropriate amount of floral water to sterilize and soak the surface; floral water can effectively kill mites; soak for ten minutes and then wash, rinse once, and the quilt will have fragrance at this time, wring it dry;

4. If there is a spacious place to dry, it is best to lay it flat to dry, the heating area is larger and the sterilization effect is better; turn it over once an hour

5. If not, the bamboo pole line should be placed in a ventilated place, and at least one side should face the sun. If you have time, you should turn it over. Floral dew can kill 90% of the bacteria, and the sun can basically kill the bacteria and disinfect it.

6. When drying, take the quilt back and put it on while it is still hot. If it is cold outside at night, there will be some bacteria, and the quilt core can also adapt to the heat. It is best to dry the quilt core in the sun as well.

Precautions

The drying process should not get dirty

Teach you how to prevent mites from quilts

First, reduce the indoor relative humidity.

Keeping relative humidity below 50% is the most common method for controlling levels of mites and their allergens. Studies have shown that using high-performance dehumidifiers and air conditioners indoors to reduce relative humidity and the total amount of mites is both practical and effective.

Second, use packaging sleeve.

Packing mattresses and pillows with special anti-mite materials is an effective way to reduce exposure to dust mites and their allergens. This method is recommended for allergy sufferers and the ideal material would be a comfortable, breathable fabric that is permeable to vapor and blocks the passage of mites and mite allergens.

3. Washing, drying and dry cleaning of bedding.

Washing sheets, pillowcases, blankets, and mattress covers once a week in hot water equal to or higher than 55 degrees Celsius can kill mites and remove most mite allergens. Tumble dryers kill all mites if the temperature is above 55 degrees Celsius for 10 minutes. Washing your hair daily is also a good way to control dust mite allergens.

Fourth, replacement of carpets, curtains and home decorations.

Carpets, curtains and home furnishing fabrics collect debris and provide an ideal habitat for mites to reproduce. In humid areas, carpeting should be replaced with a hard surface. Window (cloth) curtains or blackout curtains should be replaced with blinds, home decorative fabrics should be replaced with vinyl or leather pads, and furniture can be replaced with wooden furniture.

5. Vacuum the carpet.

Carpets should be vacuumed weekly, and the vacuum cleaner bag should be changed frequently.

6. Frozen soft toys and small items.

Soft toys and small items can be washed after being frozen at -17°C to -20°C for at least 24 hours to remove dead mites and allergens.

data----

Research has found that after just one month of use, a brand new quilt has millions of mites and bacteria. If tested again after three months of use, the level of mites and bacteria will increase by 30%! After half a year, it will increase by 50%! Therefore, experts recommend that a quilt that has been used for more than 5 years should definitely be discarded.

Tip 1: Disinfect your bedding at noon!

Quilts that smell like the sun are healthier. But unfortunately, only 44% of people have the habit of drying their bedding. The ultraviolet rays in the sunlight from 12 noon to 2 pm can effectively kill mites, microorganisms and various insect eggs. Gently patting the bedding after sun exposure can make it cleaner.

Fiber quilts and cotton quilts can be exposed to the sun for about 30 minutes at noon when the sun is bright. Down quilts and wool quilts should not be exposed to the sun for a long time, because the high temperature will cause some substances in the down and wool to produce an unpleasant odor.

Tip 2: Don’t rush to fold the quilt after getting up in the morning!

Studies have found that even in a tidy home, there are at least 15 million mites hidden on each bedding on average. The simplest way to deal with insect mites is to not fold the quilt after waking up. This way, the moisture inside the quilt will dry quickly, and external moisture will not be able to enter, which can reduce the survival of mites and reduce the chance of allergies and asthma.

A good quilt should be light rather than heavy, and big rather than small!

The weight of the quilt should not exceed 3 kg, it should be soft, easy to turn over and not affect breathing. It is better to have a bigger quilt rather than a smaller one, because a bigger quilt is less likely to leak air and will keep you warmer.

The one that suits you is a good quilt!

Silk quilt: soft, breathable, and has a long service life if well cared for. Not warm enough, difficult to clean, and prone to static electricity. It is suitable for people living in the south and is also the first choice for people who are prone to allergies.

Down comforter: durable and easy to clean. The weight is about 1/3 of a quilt, light and warm. The breathability and fit are slightly poor. Suitable for people in various regions.

Cotton quilt: economical, cheap, good warmth retention and breathability. Because cotton easily absorbs dandruff, it is relatively troublesome to clean. Choose quilts of different thicknesses according to the temperature.

The weather is good, dear friends, take out the quilts and dry them in the sun when you have time. Don’t let the mites stay with us overnight. Let’s smell the smell of roasted mites together!
