Chest and throat feel stuffy and painful

If your throat feels stuffy and painful, you may be suffering from pharyngitis. There are many reasons for pharyngitis, the most important of which is getting angry. So, how should we treat the situation when we encounter stuffiness and pain in the chest and throat? In fact, you can improve your discomfort symptoms through some traditional Chinese medicine methods. Below I will share with you some specific methods that are simple, easy to use and very effective.

Chinese medicine treatment

In the treatment of pharyngitis with traditional Chinese medicine, it is generally believed that all throat diseases are related to fire. Chronic pharyngitis is related to fire, which can be either false fire or real fire. At this time, some medicines that nourish yin, dispel wind, clear heat, and relieve sore throat can be used. In clinical practice, Manyan Shuning Qinghou Liyan Granules are often used. Its main ingredients include Scutellaria baicalensis, Ophiopogon japonicus, Platycodon grandiflorum, Rhizoma Anemarrhenae, Sterculia lychnophora, Mulberry Leaves and other ingredients. It has the effects of clearing heat and relieving sore throat, relaxing the chest and moistening the throat, and is very effective in treating chronic pharyngitis and other throat problems.

1. Add 300 grams of watermelon rind to two large bowls of water, fry until one large bowl of water remains, add appropriate amount of rock sugar, and drink after it cools down.

2. Mix 150 grams of fresh lotus root and 20 grams of honey and eat once in the morning and once in the evening.

3. Crush 60 grams of raw Rehmannia root, boil it into a decoction and remove the residue. Add 80 grams of lily and 60 grams of rice and cook into porridge.

Self-therapy

Self-medication with over-the-counter medicine

(1) Take 2-4 drops of Fengyoujing orally and swallow slowly (do not take with water), 5 times a day.

(2) After getting up early every morning, apply 3-4 drops of essential oil on the palm of your left hand and massage your throat (clockwise) 20-30 times. After 2-3 months, the condition can be greatly improved and basically recovered after a year.

Prescription therapy

(1) Take 5g of raw licorice and 10g of platycodon grandiflorum, brew with boiling water.

(2) Boil 10g of golden olive in water and take once a day for acute pharyngitis.

(3) Wash and mash 60 grams of fresh Houttuynia cordata, boil it in 1 bowl of rice water, add appropriate amount of sugar, and take it twice a day for acute pharyngitis.

(4) Take 60g of raw Rehmannia root, 60g of Polygonatum odoratum, and 6g of cinnamon twig, decoct in two doses, one dose per day, for chronic pharyngitis.

(5) Take 10g each of honeysuckle, Ophiopogon japonicus and 2 pieces of Sterculia lychnophora, brew with boiling water and drink as tea. Used for chronic pharyngitis.

(6) 2 cloves of garlic, mash them and apply them to the Yuyuan and Dazhui acupoints. This prescription can clear away heat and clear the lungs, and is used to treat heat disturbing the throat and sore throat.

(7) 30 grams of small single-headed garlic and 50 grams of vinegar. Mash garlic in vinegar and apply to the affected area. This herb is very good at reducing swelling and relieving pain, and is effective for sore throat caused by wind, cold, dampness and heat.

(8) If you suffer from chronic pharyngitis, try holding a head of raw garlic in your mouth for several months. This can help to eliminate the pharyngitis. It is best to choose purple-skinned single-headed garlic when putting raw garlic in your mouth. At the beginning, the garlic will be so spicy that tears will flow and the oral mucosa will hurt. You can suck it in and spit it out from time to time, and do not bite the smooth surface of the garlic. After you get used to it, you can hold it in your mouth and bite it at the same time. This method is also effective for oral problems such as toothache and hoarseness.

(9) Pharyngitis causes sore throat, dry and itchy throat, and a foreign body sensation when swallowing. Tongue root exercises can be used to achieve good therapeutic effects. That is: close your mouth, put the tip of your tongue against your teeth, rotate clockwise 18 times, counterclockwise 18 times, and then swallow the saliva in your mouth three times. Do this once in the morning and once in the evening.

(10) Pharyngitis is a common disease among middle-aged and elderly people, which causes unbearable pain and difficulty in swallowing. If you press the tip of the ring finger on your left hand, it can have a good analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect. The acupressure method is to use the thumb and index finger of your right hand to directly and rhythmically press the tip of the left ring finger. Do this three times a day before meals. Apply pressure for 10-15 minutes each time, and the healing effect will generally be seen in 3-4 days.
