3. Constipation

Constipation will cause food residues to be stored in the intestines for a longer time, fermenting and decomposing more completely, increasing the concentration of smelly gases.

4. Gastrointestinal diseases

Gastrointestinal bleeding, bacillary dysentery, amoebic dysentery, ulcerative colitis, hemorrhagic enteritis, and intestinal malignant tumors can cause blood or eroded tissue to appear in the intestines, which will produce a foul odor after fermentation.

In particularly serious and critical situations, it is indeed inappropriate to fart, but you can occasionally try to hold your fart back.

But you should only hold in your farts occasionally; it’s not okay to do it all the time. The ammonia, hydrogen sulfide and indole in farts, which are less than 1% of the smelly gases, are harmful to the human body. Holding in farts will allow these substances to enter the blood and be excreted through the respiratory tract and skin. There is no harm in holding it once or twice occasionally, but holding it for a long time may be harmful to your health.

The accumulation of bad odors in the body can cause abdominal pain, reduce the digestion and absorption functions, and even affect the excretion of stool; when people are constipated, more harmful substances will accumulate in the large intestine, producing more waste gas, thus forming a vicious circle.

If these waste gases cannot be discharged from the body for a long time, the organs in the body will be seriously affected, especially the burden on detoxification organs such as the liver will be increased.
