How much sleep does a two month old baby need?

As we all know, when a baby is just born, he sleeps a lot every day, and may even sleep up to 20 hours a day. This is a very normal phenomenon. As the baby grows up, the sleep time will become less and less, but in general, children sleep more than adults. So if a two-month-old baby, how long should he sleep a day to be normal?

Two-month-old baby sleep time:

The time will be at night. During the day, babies will sleep for a shorter time, but usually still sleep for 3 or 4 hours.

As for the sleep time of a 2-month-old baby at night, the baby cannot sleep until dawn and needs to be fed at night. If your baby starts crying incessantly towards the evening, don't be surprised or panic; this is a normal phenomenon. When he finally calmed down, he could often fall into a long sleep.

When your baby first wakes up, he or she will usually cry a little. When the child cries, mom and dad should pay attention to comfort the baby, and he will stop crying soon. Parents can also let the baby continue crying for a short while, no more than 6 minutes. The baby will generally calm down on his own and fall asleep again.

In general, a two-month-old baby usually sleeps about 15 hours. Parents should pay attention to their baby's sleep time and their mental state when playing during the day. If the baby sleeps less than 15 hours, and is in good spirits while playing during the day, parents don't need to worry.

According to the National Sleep Foundation's standards for infant sleep duration, a 2-month-old baby generally needs to sleep 14-17 hours a day, with a minimum of 11 hours and a maximum of 19 hours.

The recommended sleep time for babies aged 4-11 months is 12-15 hours. It is not recommended for babies at this stage to sleep less than 10 hours or more than 18 hours.

Babies aged 1-2 years old generally need to sleep 11-14 hours at best. It should not be less than 9 hours, nor too much. It is not recommended to sleep more than 16 hours.

Babies aged 3-5 years old are suitable for sleeping 10-13 hours. The minimum is not less than 8 hours and the maximum is not more than 14 hours.

The appropriate sleep time for children aged 6-13 is 9-11 hours. It is not good for children at this stage to sleep less than 7 hours or more than 12 hours.
