How to open red wine without a screwdriver

Red wine is a type of alcoholic beverage with a very unique and mellow taste. For a long time, red wine has been regarded as a symbol of romance and taste. Since red wine is made from fruit, in order to ensure the taste of the wine, the corks are made of wood. People need to be very careful when opening red wine, and generally need to use a corkscrew. So, how do you open red wine if you don’t have a corkscrew?

The first method: cut the bottle cap, take a piece of cloth and spread it on the wall, hold the bottle in your hand, and gently hit the cloth on the wall with the bottom of the bottle. The cork will slowly push out. When it is almost halfway up, put the bottle on the table, wait for the bubbles to disappear, and then slowly pull out the cork.

The second method: cut the bottle cap, clean the bottle mouth and cork, and slowly squeeze the cork in the opposite direction, that is, press it into the bottle. The bottle will never break because, unlike other carbonated drinks, red wine bottles are specially treated and will not burst due to the pressure you apply. But still be careful not to use too much force, and squeeze it in slowly to prevent accidents.

Steps to open sparkling wine:

Remove the foil

Most bottles have a little tab on the foil that you can pull to make this process easier.

Loosen the wire cage

Flip down the small wire "key" that is pressed against the neck of the bottle at the bottom of the wire cage enclosing the cork. Turn the key to release the cage. Remove and discard it.

Cover the bottle with a towel

Now that the cork is exposed, place a rag over the top of the bottle to prevent pressure buildup from causing the cork to pop out on its own. (Towels will also be kept at the ready in case of any spills.)

Twist the bottom of the sparkling wine bottle until the cork comes loose

Keep the bottle pointed in a safe direction (i.e. away from you and other people) by holding the cork with one hand and the base of the bottle with the other. Do not attempt to twist the cork. Instead, hold the cork and slowly turn the bottle toward you, holding the base with your hand. As you flip the bottle over its base, you should feel the cork begin to loosen and relax into your hand. Continue until you hear the cork popping softly out of the bottle.
