Orthodontic jaw prosthesis

Orthodontic jaw prosthesis

As cosmetic surgery techniques become more and more sophisticated, many people will undergo micro-plastic surgery. Make adjustments to your face to make yourself more perfect. Because the teeth were not properly cared for during the period of tooth replacement, they grew unevenly, but now they can be improved through orthodontic treatment. The chin can modify the face shape, so the most common micro plastic surgery is to implant a prosthesis on the chin. Today, I will introduce in detail how long it takes to perform a jaw prosthesis for orthodontic treatment.

Under normal circumstances, the order of teeth correction surgery should be followed by prosthetic chin augmentation surgery. If the order is reversed, if the prosthetic chin augmentation is not yet stable, the teeth correction surgery will affect the original chin augmentation effect. In severe cases, the prosthetic chin may even become crooked or displaced. Generally, the prosthetic chin surgery should be maintained for 6 months before teeth correction surgery. Things to note after having a chin implant.

1. Thinking is a normal phenomenon. Generally, it takes one or two months for this type of surgery to partially recover. Ten days after the chin augmentation surgery, the sutures in the mouth will be removed and some of them will fall off on their own. The incision under the chin can be removed after 5 days.

2. The recovery time is about 5 to 7 days. The swelling will start to go down from the second day, but the fixation belt should be worn for 3 days to reduce the swelling and discomfort of the wound.

3. Pay attention to oral hygiene after the operation, and eat liquid food as much as possible, and transition slowly to prevent excessive movement of the jaw that may cause the prosthesis to move.

4. After a period of time after the chin augmentation surgery, you will feel your expression is a little stiff, and it will be a little uncomfortable when you speak and smile, because the wound is still healing and has not yet adapted to the prosthesis.

5. Do not participate in sports that may cause vibration or impact on the face within a few weeks after chin augmentation surgery to prevent accidental collision and displacement of the prosthesis.

Tips: A prosthetic chin pad can instantly make a retracted or short chin look prettier. Although the operation is simple, postoperative care cannot be ignored. If the chin is not properly protected after the operation, it is likely to cause a stiff and unnatural expression.
