Judging the acute stage of lumbar spine

Judging the acute stage of lumbar spine

Most people's lumbar diseases are chronic and will gradually affect a person's daily life, and will cause pain from time to time. However, due to the different causes of lumbar spine diseases, some people's lumbar spine diseases are also acute. Lumbar disease in the acute stage is much more serious than lumbar disease in the chronic stage. Next, I will give you a detailed introduction on how to determine whether you are in the acute stage of lumbar disease.

According to many records, there are three common symptoms in the acute stage of lumbar disc herniation:

1. The acute stage of lumbar disc herniation will cause limited lumbar movement, which may be restricted in one direction or in multiple directions. When bending forward, the nucleus pulposus shifts backward, increasing the pressure on the nerves or dura mater and aggravating the pain. Based on the same principle, when the lumbar vertebrae move left and right, the nucleus pulposus will move left and right accordingly, increasing or reducing the pressure on the nerve roots. In order to relieve pain symptoms, patients generally maintain a corresponding body position to reduce pressure on the nerve roots, which manifests as reactive scoliosis of the spine.

2. Trauma is an important factor leading to acute attacks of lumbar disc herniation, especially in young and middle-aged people. They do not pay attention to the protection of the waist, and often cause it by lifting heavy objects, very light movements (such as bending over to lift objects, etc.), and direct external force. It often manifests as difficulty walking, needing help from others, or being carried to the hospital.

3. The most obvious symptom of patients in the acute stage of lumbar disc herniation is that they may have a painful expression. Due to the pain, they dare not use force on the affected limb and need to walk with the help of a wall. When walking, the sciatic nerve is tightened and the stride of the affected limb is small, so they will limp.

The above are some conditions that patients with lumbar disc herniation suffer from in the acute stage. Lumbar disc herniation not only seriously affects the health of patients, but also causes great inconvenience in their life and work. It brings endless pain to patients, especially the pain in waist and legs, which makes it impossible for patients to work with peace of mind. Patients with lumbar disc herniation must pay attention to protecting their waist, arrange rest time reasonably, and avoid over-fatigue.
