How to clean a new kettle

All newly purchased items need to be carefully cleaned before use, because many items come directly from the production line and may have been touched by countless people, and the bacteria content on them is innumerable. The main function of a kettle is to boil water. All the water people drink needs to be boiled in a kettle. How should a new kettle be cleaned so that it can be used safely? Let's learn how to clean a new kettle.

1. How to clean the inner tank of a hot water kettle

The main things to do when dealing with a newly purchased thermos are to disinfect it and remove the odor. Disinfection is very simple. Pour boiling water into the thermos, keep it for an hour and pour it out. Then pour another pot of boiling water and leave it overnight and pour it out. This method can both disinfect and age the bottle glass, which is very useful. The key is to remove the odor from the cork. Boil the bottle stopper repeatedly in boiling water until the odor is very small. Don't abuse chemical substances to remove odors, as they are harmful to your body. However, it is still recommended that you soak the newly purchased thermos in hot water for a period of time to remove the odor. This is a better way.

First, pour a spoonful of vinegar or tea leaves into the thermos, and then fill it with about 80% hot water (50-70). Vinegar and tea leaves have a disinfecting effect. Then shake the thermos bottle a dozen times and then pour out the water. The first wash water is dirty.

Secondly, fill it with 50-70 degree water, also about 80%, and then shake it to produce a moving effect, which will make the molecules move strongly, so that the dirt inside can also be cleaned out. Repeat this pouring and cleaning several times. After the vinegar smell is gone, fill the thermos with water and leave it overnight. The next day, pour out the water and rinse it twice before using it. When pouring water, do not use the faucet to avoid water splashing onto the inner tank. At the same time, when using it frequently, do not alternate between hot water and ice water, as this will reduce the service life of the thermos.

2. How to repair a kettle

First, do not turn off the power after the water boils. This is mainly caused by failure of the reset switch. Common reasons include severe deformation of the temperature sensor or obstruction of the switch linkage. For the former, the protruding angle of the temperature sensing plate tongue can be re-bent so that it can push the switch connecting rod normally. For the latter, it is necessary to find the obstructed area or foreign object. Generally, it can be restored to normal by removing the foreign object and correcting the position.

Second, the heating speed is slow. Common causes are low power voltage, poor contact of indoor power lines or plug sockets, which should be eliminated first. Then check whether the electric heating tube is seriously scaled, whether the contact between the base and the power plug socket of the kettle body is seriously poor, etc. If the electric heating tube is scaled, first scrape it lightly with a knife and then polish it with fine sandpaper. If the contact between the base and the power plug socket of the kettle body is seriously poor, first clean the oxide layer and dirt on the contact piece and contact point of the plug socket, and then correct its shape so that the two are in close and good contact.

Third, there is no heating after power is turned on, but the indicator light is on. If the indicator light is on, it means that power has been added to the indicator light circuit and the fault is in the electric heating tube or its connection part. Common causes are damage to the electric heating tube and poor contact. This can be determined by removing the electric heating tube and measuring its resistance. If the electric heating tube is damaged, it can usually only be replaced. Poor contact is mainly caused by severe corrosion or deformation of the contact reed in the power plug assembly. The switch box can be disassembled for cleaning and repair. If it is severely damaged, it is best to replace it with a new one.
