What is the most accurate table for calculating the dangerous period?

The dangerous period is the so-called ovulation period, which refers to the date of ovulation every month for female friends. This date can be calculated based on the female's menstrual cycle. For normal female friends, the menstrual cycle is 28 days. The ovulation period is about 14 days before the menstruation. During the ovulation period, the chance of conception during sexual intercourse will increase. You can also determine whether a woman is in the ovulation period through experience.

In life, what ordinary people call the dangerous period is actually the ovulation period of menstruation. The ovulation period is generally around the 14th day before the next menstruation. Having sex during the 5 days before and 4 days after the ovulation period will increase the chance of pregnancy, so we call this period the dangerous period. However, for some patients whose menstrual cycles are irregular, such as menstruation is always early or late, there is no way to accurately calculate the ovulation period at this time, resulting in the inability to accurately calculate the safe period and the dangerous period.

The following two methods are recommended for accurately self-testing women’s ovulation period - the dangerous period.

1. Basal body temperature detection method: Place the thermometer next to your pillow where you can easily reach it before going to bed. After waking up the next day, before getting up and moving around, place it under your tongue for 3 minutes and record the temperature on the basal body temperature chart. If you have difficulty measuring your body temperature in the morning, you can measure it at a fixed time every day. Remember not to do strenuous exercise or drink hot or cold food half an hour before measurement. ?Women’s basal body temperature is regular, just like their menstrual cycle. The basal body temperature of a normal ovulating woman is based on the ovulation day, from the onset of menstruation to the ovulation day, and the low temperature period lasts about two weeks; the body temperature rises by 0.3℃-0.5℃ from the ovulation day to the next menstrual day, and the high temperature period also lasts about two weeks. This body temperature curve with low temperature at the beginning and high temperature at the end is called a biphasic body temperature curve, which is the most accurate form of calculating the dangerous period. It means that the ovary has normal ovulation function, and ovulation generally occurs before the body temperature rises or in the process of rising from low to high.

2. Changes in vaginal secretions: The main component of vaginal secretions is cervical mucus, which is controlled by hormones secreted by the ovaries. In the first half of the menstrual cycle, that is, before ovulation, the amount gradually increases and becomes thinner and more translucent. When ovulation occurs, estrogen secretion reaches its peak, the amount of cervical mucus is the largest, its toughness is the strongest, and its appearance is as smooth as egg white. During the ovulation period, the large amount of cervical mucus secretion can last for about 2-3 days. After ovulation, the secretion of progesterone prevents the large amount of cervical mucus secretion, vaginal secretions decrease, and menstruation occurs about 10 days later.
