Reasons for low muscle liver

Reasons for low muscle liver

Creatinine is a relatively important substance in the human body, and the creatinine content also has a great impact on the human body. Whether the creatinine content is too low or too high, it indicates that the person has certain health problems. Generally speaking, if the body's creatinine level is too low, it is likely caused by a low-protein diet, pregnancy, loss of muscle mass or some liver disease, and the body needs to be adjusted in time!

1. Low protein diet leads to low creatinine

A diet low in protein can cause a decrease in creatinine levels. Foods rich in creatine phosphate include salmon, pork, tuna and beef, which are all high in protein. Since these foods are not included in a low-protein diet, less creatine phosphate is available for breakdown, resulting in less creatinine produced.

2. Pregnancy causes low creatinine

Pregnancy is also one of the causes of low blood creatinine levels. Once the fetus begins to develop in the uterus, it needs nutrients transferred from the mother's body through the umbilical cord. Due to body changes, pregnant women may have less creatine phosphate available to break down. A decrease in creatine phosphate will also lead to a decrease in creatinine production. But unless there is another cause, creatinine levels will return to normal after the baby is born.

3. Reduced muscle mass leads to low creatinine

Since men have more muscle mass than women, their creatinine levels are also relatively higher. But people who lose muscle mass are likely to also have decreased creatinine levels. Aging naturally reduces the amount of muscle mass in the body. Some diseases can also cause muscle loss and reduce muscle mass. Muscular dystrophy and myasthenia gravis are some typical examples. Additionally, limited movement due to disability can reduce muscle mass due to less muscle use.

4. Liver disease causes low creatinine

Liver disease can cause low blood creatinine levels. In cases where liver disease is more advanced, the organ also stops producing creatinine. In addition, liver disease can also cause loss of muscle mass. Diseases that affect the liver include fatty liver disease, hepatitis, and metabolic disorders such as Wilson's disease and hemochromatosis.

Low creatinine may be related to anemia, muscular dystrophy, muscular atrophy, leukemia, diabetes insipidus and other diseases. If the creatinine measurement value is slightly lower than the normal creatinine value, it can be checked again.
