Symptoms of torn knee ligament

Symptoms of torn knee ligament

The knee is a very critical part. If there is a problem with the knee, it will cause a lot of impact on the patient's body. First of all, after the knee ligament is torn, there will often be symptoms of inflammation, but this secretion will be self-absorbed, but some inflammation will have bad phenomena after being self-absorbed. Don't mind if you try it easily. In addition, after the knee ligament is torn, it usually causes pain.

What should I do if my knee ligament is torn, my knee is always swollen, and there is fluid accumulation? Does traditional Chinese medicine have any treatment methods?

The knee joint cavity itself is filled with synovial fluid, which is continuously secreted and self-absorbed, thus keeping the synovial fluid from being too much or too little. Synovial fluid is an important source of joint lubrication and nutrition for articular cartilage. When synovial fluid secretion is insufficient, it will lead to insufficient joint lubrication and wear of articular cartilage. This is why some patients with knee pain need to be injected with sodium hyaluronate (an artificial synovial fluid).

However, if the synovium is irritated, such as when synovitis occurs, it will lead to excessive secretion of synovial fluid. If it cannot be absorbed and metabolized in time, it will cause the synovial fluid to accumulate in the joint cavity, increasing the pressure in the joint cavity, causing joint swelling and pain.

The knee ligament is the connective tissue that connects the bones, and sometimes it will rupture during strenuous exercise, which will cause swelling and pain in the knee and also induce effusion. This kind of effusion is mostly caused by pathological effusion. When there is effusion in the knee, there is usually more or less knee synovitis.

Effusion is only a manifestation of knee joint disease. Once the joint itself is treated, the effusion will naturally be absorbed and improved. However, if the effusion is moderate to severe, joint puncture and fluid extraction should be performed to completely drain the effusion. Of course, this degree needs to be determined by a specialist. Draining the accumulated fluid is only a temporary solution and is not recommended for repeated use.

If it is only a mild effusion, you can also consider taking Chinese medicine treatments, including acupuncture, massage, cupping, acupoint injection, warm and hot compresses and other Chinese medicine specialties. It plays the role of promoting blood circulation, removing blood stasis, relieving menstruation and relieving pain, and dispelling wind and cold. Modern medicine believes that these treatments can stimulate nerve endings, dilate blood vessels through reflex, promote local blood circulation, and improve nutrition of surrounding tissues, thereby achieving the purpose of anti-inflammation, analgesia, and absorption of effusion;

The second is rehabilitation exercise therapy: during the acute phase, you should rest in bed and reduce weight bearing. Quit smoking and drinking. Appropriate physical therapy can be given. During the treatment, you can do quadriceps contraction and relaxation exercises and straight leg raising exercises. In the later stage, the flexion and extension exercises of the knee joint can be strengthened, which has a positive effect on eliminating joint effusion, preventing quadriceps atrophy, preventing recurrent synovitis, and restoring the flexion and extension function of the knee joint. This is also the most crucial and fundamental prevention and treatment method for knee joint diseases.

You should develop the habit of exercising regularly, but be careful not to overdo it. Because the knee is the joint that bears the most weight in the human body, excessive load can easily cause arthritis. Such as appropriate walking, shallow squats, tiptoeing and other exercises. As long as the exercise method is correct, it can not only improve physical condition, but also reduce knee joint diseases.
