Snake parasites_Do snakes have parasites

As the snake breeding industry continues to develop, many people's restaurants often start selling snake meat. While selling it, they are also worried that it will be unsafe for customers to eat it, because we cannot judge whether there are parasites in the snake meat. Parasites are invisible and intangible. The question of whether snakes have parasites depends on the species. In addition, parasites will not appear so easily. As long as these aspects of hygiene are maintained, parasites can be eliminated.

Do snakes have parasites?

With the continuous development of the snake breeding industry, the prevention and treatment of snake diseases has become an important task in snake breeding and management. The presence of snake parasites affects the growth and development of snakes, reduces their physical fitness, and easily leads to the occurrence of other diseases. In severe cases, it can even kill the snakes. Therefore, prevention and treatment of snake parasitic diseases should be done well to ensure the healthy growth and development of snakes and improve economic benefits. With the continuous development of snake breeding industry

1. Internal parasitic diseases

There are more than 10 kinds of parasites in snakes, among which the more harmful ones are ascaris, snake crimson nematodes, snake pseudostrongyloides, snake stick nematodes, snake whipworms, etc. Some parasites live in the digestive tract, and some in the respiratory system; mild cases can cause the snake to become emaciated or have difficulty breathing, while severe cases can cause the snake to become exhausted or suffocate to death. The above parasites can be treated with the following drugs:

Take 2g of Snake and Worm Clear for every kilogram of body weight, dissolve it in appropriate amount of warm water, add 50g of fresh egg juice or frog meat paste, and take it orally. It usually cures the disease in one time.

For humans, take 0.01 g of Intestinal Worm Clear per kilogram of body weight, orally as above, once a day for 3 consecutive days.

Refined veterinary trichlorfon: 1 tablet per kilogram of body weight, orally administered as above, once a day for 2 to 3 times.

2External parasitic diseases

The main external parasites of snakes are mites. Snake mites live on the snake's skin and feed on the snake's blood, seriously affecting the snake's health. After a snake is infected with mites, castor oil can be applied to the snake's body to form an airtight castor oil film on the snake's surface. The snake mites will die due to inability to breathe, and the dead mites will be shed along with the snake's skin.

3 Prevention

Snakes are infected with parasites mainly because the bait carries pathogens. In addition, the presence of infectious eggs and external parasites of snake parasites in the external environment can also cause snakes to be infected with parasites. Therefore, in order to effectively prevent the occurrence of snake parasitic diseases, comprehensive prevention and control measures should be taken.

Preventive deworming: Use the above drugs to regularly deworm snakes to reduce infection and pathogen transmission.

Maintain good environmental hygiene and pay attention to the hygiene of snake nests, playgrounds, drinking water and bait. Clean and disinfect snake playgrounds and snake nests regularly. Snake sloughs with mites must be burned to prevent the mites from detaching from the sloughs and parasitizing other snakes again.

Strengthen feeding and management. Snakes like live food. You must fully meet their needs for bait and pay attention to the diversity of bait. Especially during the breeding season of snakes, it is necessary to strengthen the feeding and management of snakes and improve the snakes' physical fitness to enhance their resistance to parasites.
