Characteristics of hematuria caused by urinary system tumors

Some people will have blood in their urine, which is mainly caused by renal failure. Because the kidney is the most core organ for urination, hematuria caused by urinary tract tumors is a very serious disease. This type of tumor often occurs in the bladder area. When going to the toilet, there will be some pain and blood in the urine. When this happens, timely treatment is required and should not be delayed too long, because a lot of blood cells will be lacking, leading to excessive blood loss. The following is a detailed introduction.

Urinary tract tumors are tumors that occur anywhere in the urinary system. Includes tumors of the kidney, renal pelvis, ureter, bladder, and urethra. Below the renal pelvis are organs with ducts, the cavity of which is covered with urothelium and is exposed to urine. Carcinogens often cause urothelial tumors through urine, so urothelial tumors of the renal pelvis, ureter, bladder, and urethra have commonalities and may affect multiple organs. Since urine stays in the bladder the longest, bladder cancer is the most common cause. Kidney cancer is also called renal adenocarcinoma and renal cell carcinoma. Originates from the renal tubules. Most are clear cell carcinomas, while granular cell carcinomas are less common.

Spindle cell carcinoma is rare and has a very poor prognosis. Hematuria, swelling and pain are the three main symptoms of kidney cancer, and all of them indicate late stage. Hematuria is often intermittent, painless, and visible to the naked eye. Because it occurs intermittently, it is easily delayed. About 1/3 to 1/2 of kidney cancers have no clinical symptoms and are discovered accidentally during physical examinations or diagnosed during ultrasound or CT scans for other diseases. Fever and rapid erythrocyte sedimentation rate are signs of a poor prognosis for kidney cancer. Kidney cancer may metastasize to the lungs and bones. Renal pelvis and ureteral cancer are relatively rare among urothelial tumors, but they can occur in multiple organs. Most cancers caused by long-term kidney stone stimulation are squamous cell carcinomas. The most common symptom is blood in the urine, and cancer cells may be found in the urine. Cystoscopy may reveal blood spurting from the ureteral orifice on the affected side.

Urinary system angiography is extremely important for the diagnosis of renal pelvic and ureteral tumors, as it can reveal filling defects and possible secondary hydronephrosis. Ureteropelvic cancer surgery involves the entire length of the ureter and its opening into the bladder. When the tumor cells are well-differentiated or there is a solitary kidney, palliative local resection can be performed. Bladder cancer is the most common cancer of the urinary system. Smoking is considered an important cause of cancer, with 50% of male and 31% of female bladder cancer patients smoking. Bladder cancer can be divided into two categories: superficial and invasive. Superficial tumors are confined to the mucosa without penetrating the lamina propria, accounting for about 80%. Invasive tumors invade the muscular layer, accounting for about 20%, among which some superficial tumors may develop into invasive tumors. The cell differentiation of bladder cancer varies greatly and is closely related to the prognosis. Intermittent, painless hematuria is the most common symptom of bladder cancer. Because it is intermittent and painless, diagnosis may be delayed. There was no significant correlation between the amount of hematuria and the size, number, or malignancy of the tumor. Hematuria may eventually worsen, accompanied by bladder irritation symptoms. If there is carrion in the urine and urination is difficult, most of them are late symptoms. Bladder rhabdomyosarcoma occurs in infants and young children, and the main symptoms are difficulty urinating and grape-like substances in the urine.
