Transient myocardial ischemia symptoms

Transient myocardial ischemia symptoms

Many people pay more attention to heart health, because the heart is the core organ of the body and there must not be any problems with it, otherwise it will bring many adverse effects to physical health. Severe heart disease will threaten people's life safety at any time and bring great harm to people's lives. For example, what are the symptoms of transient myocardial ischemia? Let’s take a look at the explanation below.

Myocardial ischemia refers to a clinical state in which coronary blood flow is reduced due to various reasons, resulting in insufficient supply of myocardial oxygen and other substances and reduced clearance of metabolic products. The main therapeutic mechanisms are promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, invigorating the mind with aromatics, and promoting qi circulation and relieving pain.

Clinical manifestations

1. When tired or mentally stressed, there will be dull pain behind the sternum or in front of the heart, or tightening pain, which radiates to the left shoulder and left upper arm, lasting for 3 to 5 minutes, and will be relieved by itself after rest, accompanied by profuse sweating.

2. Chest tightness, palpitations, and shortness of breath occur during physical activity and are relieved on their own during rest.

3. Exercise-related sore throat, burning sensation, tightness, toothache, etc.

4. Chest pain and tightness occur after a full meal, cold weather, or drinking.

5. When the pillow is low when sleeping at night, you will feel chest tightness and shortness of breath, and you need to lie in a high pillow to feel comfortable; when you are sleeping soundly or lying flat during the day, you will suddenly have chest pain, palpitations, and difficulty breathing, and you need to sit up or stand up immediately to relieve the pain.

6. Feeling anxious, chest tightness, shortness of breath, or chest pain during sexual intercourse or straining to have a bowel movement.

7. Sudden bradycardia, low blood pressure or syncope.

8. Unexplained fatigue and lack of energy.

9. Patients without typical symptoms may only feel stomach discomfort, nausea, or toothache, cervical pain, etc.

Myocardial ischemia is caused by coronary atherosclerosis leading to narrowing of the coronary artery lumen. The corresponding myocardial ischemia and hypoxia cause chest tightness and angina pectoris symptoms. It may be aggravated by fatigue or emotional excitement, and can be relieved by rest or taking nitroglycerin. It can also be caused by coronary artery spasm and cause stenosis. It is recommended to visit the cardiology department for examination such as electrocardiogram and coronary angiography to identify the cause of the disease and receive reasonable treatment to recover as soon as possible.

Currently, myocardial ischemia is a controllable disease, and early diagnosis and early treatment are the key. Try to eat less high-fat foods, and eat more foods containing crude fiber, rich vitamins, and high-quality protein; increase exercise, and participate in more healthy recreational activities (never excessive activities); never drink alcohol.
