The abdomen is a very important part of our body because many important organs are located in this area. The upper abdominal area corresponds to the location of various organs

1. Left upper abdomen: stomach, spleen, splenic flexure of colon, tail of pancreas, left adrenal gland, left kidney;

2. Upper and middle abdomen: left lobe of liver, pyloric end of stomach, duodenum, pancreatic head and body, greater omentum, transverse colon, abdominal aorta;

3. Right upper abdomen: right lobe of liver, gallbladder, part of duodenum, hepatic flexure of colon, right adrenal gland, right kidney;

The location of various organs in the middle abdomen area

Left side of abdomen, descending colon, jejunum or ileum, below left kidney;

Mid-abdomen: greater omentum, pendulous stomach or transverse colon, lower duodenum, jejunum or ileum, ureters, abdominal aorta, mesentery and lymph nodes;

Right side of abdomen: ascending colon, jejunum, part of duodenum, lower part of right kidney;

The location of each organ in the lower abdomen

1. Left lower abdomen, sigmoid colon, left ovary and fallopian tube in females, left spermatic cord and lymph nodes in males;

2. Lower and middle abdomen, ileum, ureter, sigmoid colon, distended bladder, enlarged uterus;

3. Right lower abdomen: cecum, appendix, lower end of ileum, lymph nodes, right ovary and fallopian tube in females, right spermatic cord in males
