Exercises to mobilize the cervical spine

Exercises to mobilize the cervical spine

The main cause of cervical spondylosis is long-term inactivity of the cervical spine, which keeps the cervical spine in one posture. Therefore, many people will look for some exercises that can move the cervical spine to relieve their cervical spondylosis after they suffer from cervical spondylosis. There are actually many exercises that can move the cervical spine, and each exercise can be used to target different types of cervical spondylosis. Next, I will introduce to you the specific activities of the cervical spine.

Cervical spondylosis is caused by injuries to muscles and ligaments. Exercise can maintain muscles and ligaments. Maintaining a posture for a long time can cause trauma to the nervous system and put pressure on the cervical spine. Therefore, we should pay attention to the movement of the cervical spine and shoulders in life to prevent the occurrence of cervical spondylosis. The following exercises are good for preventing cervical spondylosis.

1. Rice character exercise

If you stay in the same posture for a long time, your cervical spine will feel sore. If you ignore it, it will easily develop into cervical spondylosis. Therefore, office workers may wish to do the "M" exercise with their heads, that is, write the "M" character with their heads. This can exercise the neck in all directions and prevent and treat cervical spondylosis.

2. Massage the Jianzhen point

You can pinch the Jianjing point symmetrically on both sides, massage the Jianzhen point, or pat the back directly to improve blood circulation to the back muscles. The Jianzhen point is located at the posterior and inferior part of the shoulder joint, 1 inch above the posterior axillary line when the arm is adducted.

3. Massage Fengchi acupoint

Press the Fengchi points on both sides of the back of the head, from lightly to heavily, all the way down to the Dazhui point, 20-30 times. Since the Fengchi point is located at a high place and is not covered by a collar, it is easily affected by wind. Pressing and kneading the Fengchi point can not only loosen stiff muscles, but also generate heat through friction, drive away cold, and relieve cervical spondylosis. Fengchi point is located at the back of the neck, under the back of the skull, in the depression on the outer edges of two large tendons, which is level with the earlobe. The Dazhui point is located at the lower end of the neck, in the depression below the spinous process of the seventh cervical vertebra.

4. Inner Eight Exercises

Open your feet slightly wider than your shoulders, with your soles of your feet pointing inward. In this position, squat down and then stand up again. Do 50 at a time.

The above exercise methods are summarized by experts. They mainly exercise the muscles, ligaments and joint capsules of the cervical spine, keep them in an active state, increase blood circulation, increase vitality, prevent injuries to the cervical spine, and thus prevent the onset of cervical spondylosis and affect health.
