Why does the dandruff increase after using silicone-free oil?

Hair needs to be cleaned and maintained regularly, otherwise a lot of oil will appear, which will affect the health of the hair and seriously affect the personal image and temperament. There are many types of shampoos. In recent years, silicone-free shampoos have been very popular and have been loved by everyone. However, not everyone is suitable for this type of product. So why does the use of silicone-free shampoos increase dandruff?

First, why does the dandruff increase when using silicone-free products? Shampoos that include dimethicone, dimethiconol, amodimethicone and other ingredients in the ingredient list are all silicone-containing shampoos.

Second, what is silicone oil? It has a long history since it was first added to shampoo. The reason why it has been added to cleaning products for so many years is naturally due to its advantages. It can adhere to the hair, reduce the friction of the hair after washing, and reduce hair damage; it can fill the damaged parts of the hair scales to make the hair smoother. Figuratively speaking, silicone oil is the lubricant for hair.

Third, adding silicone oil can make hair smoother, but silicone itself is impermeable and difficult to clean. When you wash your hair next time, the silicone oil used last time has not been cleaned out yet, and the silicone oil used this time will be added on top, layer by layer on the hair, which puts a heavy burden on the hair. Moreover, silicone oil attached to the scalp may clog the hair follicles if not cleaned for a long time, making hair loss more serious. If you feel that your hair roots are becoming flatter and oily, or you are experiencing increased hair loss, this phenomenon is most likely caused by long-term use of silicone-containing shampoos.

For normal hair, it is recommended to use silicone-free shampoo and silicone-containing shampoo in a 1:1 ratio, and hair care products containing silicone can be used; for oily hair, it is recommended to use silicone-free shampoo, use it 3 to 5 times, and use it once for silicone-containing hair care products; for dry or damaged hair, it is recommended to use silicone-containing shampoo more often, use silicone-containing shampoo 3 to 5 times, and then use silicone-free shampoo once for thorough cleaning, and use silicone-containing hair care products daily.
