Can afternoon urine test for pregnancy?

Nowadays, many small tools have become very convenient. It is no longer an era where you need to go to the hospital for check-up. Many women can use a simple pregnancy test strip to check whether they are pregnant after early pregnancy reactions. The accuracy rate is still very high, but you should pay attention to the time and method of the test. Urine tests in the afternoon are generally not accurate. It is recommended to choose early morning urination.

When is urine pregnancy test accurate?

Generally, if menstruation is delayed for a week, it is more accurate to use morning urine to measure. The first urine in the morning is the most accurate, and the middle part is the most accurate. The urine at other times is not very accurate. If your period does not come when it is supposed to, and it has not come for more than 7-10 days, you should consider pregnancy. It is recommended to do an early test strip examination. Instead of calculating based on the duration of sexual intercourse, clinically it is generally calculated from the last menstrual period. If there are 2 red lines during the test, it means positive, indicating the possibility of pregnancy.

Generally, amenorrhea can be detected if it has been more than 3-7 days. In the early stages of pregnancy (about six weeks after amenorrhea), the level of human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) in the pregnant woman's body increases, gastric acid secretion decreases, and gastric emptying time is prolonged, leading to a series of reactions such as dizziness, fatigue, loss of appetite, preference for sour food or aversion to greasy food, nausea, and vomiting in the morning. These symptoms generally do not require special treatment. After 12 weeks of pregnancy, as the HCG level in the body decreases, the symptoms will disappear naturally and appetite will return to normal.

If you do a pregnancy self-test at night, the accuracy will be affected to a greater or lesser extent. Because early morning urine generally has the highest HCG value. Many pregnancy tests do not indicate the best time of day to take the test. Generally speaking, the most accurate result will be obtained using the first urine excreted in the morning.

Although a positive result is not as misdiagnosed as a negative result, there are many non-pregnancy factors that can cause a positive test result: blood in the urine, recent pregnancy (HCG hormone can be found after miscarriage, induced abortion or 8 weeks after giving birth), ovarian tumors and other diseases, or taking some fertility drugs.

5 Weeks Pregnancy Symptoms

From now until the next six weeks, your body will produce a surge of pregnancy hormones. The secretion of hormones affects the cells in your body, helping your body become more suitable for conceiving a baby, but at the same time, you will feel some discomfort. Like most pregnant mothers, you may experience symptoms such as nausea, morning sickness, breast tenderness, fatigue, and frequent urination. Your sense of smell will become more acute and you will become averse to cigarettes, alcohol or caffeinated drinks. If you usually don't like to sleep, but now you feel like you "can't wake up", don't worry, this is also caused by the secretion of hormones, which produces an anesthetic effect, causing the body's movements to become a little sluggish.

Sleepiness: Sleepiness is a physiological need in early pregnancy. A good sleep for pregnant mothers can help the fetus grow better. Therefore, in order to get a good rest, pregnant mothers must not ignore the choice of bedding during pregnancy. It is very important for the fetus to have a good mood for the pregnant mother to maintain emotional education.
