Difference between milk calcium and calcium gluconate

Difference between milk calcium and calcium gluconate

I believe that many people do not know the difference between milk calcium and calcium gluconate, nor do they know their nutritional values. Therefore, it is recommended that everyone should understand the effects of milk calcium and calcium gluconate. The ingredients of milk calcium and calcium gluconate are different. As can be seen from the names, the main ingredients of milk calcium are calcium and lactic acid, while the main ingredients of calcium gluconate are glucose and calcium.

1. The difference between milk calcium and calcium lactate

1. The ingredients contained are different. Calcium lactate is a pure substance that combines two molecules of lactic acid with one molecule of calcium ion. The main components of milk calcium are calcium citrate and tricalcium phosphate.

2. The preparation methods are different. Calcium lactate is a synthetic compound of lactic acid and calcium salt. Milk calcium is a mixture made by physically purifying natural cow's milk.

3. Different absorption effects. The absorption rate of milk calcium is as high as 62% to 70%, which is 1.75 times that of calcium lactate. Its calcium supplementation effect is much higher than that of calcium lactate.

2. The difference between calcium lactate, calcium gluconate, milk calcium and calcium carbonate

1. Calcium lactate: Calcium lactate is a calcium supplement that promotes the calcification of bones and teeth, maintains the normal excitability of nerves and muscles, and reduces capillary permeability. Due to its low solubility, it is generally only administered orally. It is slowly absorbed after oral administration and its process in the body is similar to that of calcium chloride.

2. Milk calcium: The full name is whey calcium (whey inorganic salt concentrate). Milk calcium is whey inorganic salt concentrate. It is an inorganic salt source with good nutritional value and is easy to digest and absorb. The total inorganic salt content in cow's milk is about 0.7%, and calcium is about 0.1%.

3. Calcium carbonate: Calcium carbonate is an inorganic compound, commonly known as: limestone, limestone, stone powder, marble, etc. Calcium carbonate is neutral, basically insoluble in water, and soluble in hydrochloric acid. It is one of the common substances on Earth, existing in rocks such as aragonite, calcite, chalk, limestone, marble, travertine, etc., and is also the main component of animal bones or shells. Calcium carbonate is also an important building material and has a wide range of uses in industry.

4. Calcium gluconate: White crystalline or granular powder, melting point 201°C (decomposition), odorless, tasteless, easily soluble in boiling water (20g/100ml), slightly soluble in cold water (3g/100ml, 20°C), insoluble in organic solvents such as ethanol or ether. The aqueous solution is neutral (pH about 6-7). Calcium gluconate is mainly used as a calcium fortifier and nutrient, buffer, solidifying agent and chelating agent in food.
