How to effectively treat esophageal cancer?

Esophageal cancer brings a lot of trouble to the patient's life and casts a dark cloud on our lives. Therefore, how to effectively treat esophageal cancer has become the most concerned issue for patients. Here we will introduce to you how to effectively treat esophageal cancer and other related information.

Clinically, commonly used treatments for esophageal cancer include surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, etc. In the middle and late stages, conservative treatment with traditional Chinese medicine should be used.

1. Surgical treatment

1. Major surgical treatment: Surgery is the first choice for treating early esophageal cancer.

Once the diagnosis is confirmed and the physical condition permits, surgical treatment should be adopted.

2. Minor surgical treatment: It is generally recommended that patients in the advanced stage (those who can hardly eat or can only eat a very small amount of liquid) undergo esophageal stent placement to expand the narrow esophagus. PS: (It will be very painful when the esophagus is expanded instantly). It mainly solves the problem of eating. However, this can only prolong life in the short term. It is suitable for patients who can no longer undergo surgical resection after recurrence or patients who cannot undergo radiotherapy after recurrence.

2. Radiation therapy

The indications for radiotherapy for esophageal cancer are relatively broad. Except for esophageal perforation forming esophageal fistula, distant metastasis, obvious cachexia, and severe heart, lung, and liver diseases, all other conditions can be treated with radiotherapy, including radical radiotherapy and palliative radiotherapy.

Indications:

(1) No pre-perforation signs;

(2) The lesion length should not exceed 8 cm;

(3) The patient's general condition is above average;

(4) Can take semi-liquid food or normal food;

(5) No supraclavicular lymph node metastasis, no vocal cord paralysis, and no distant metastasis;

(6) There should be a cytological or pathological diagnosis, especially for superficial esophageal cancer.

Don't despair if you have esophageal cancer. Medicine is so advanced now. Believe in science and technology, and actively cooperate with the doctor's effective treatment. I believe you will recover soon. If you have any related questions, please consult online experts!
