What are the symptoms of advanced lung cancer metastasis?

Many diseases are beyond treatment in the late stage. Malignant tumors are the best example, among which lung tumors are a common type. When lung tumors reach the late stage, they will metastasize to a certain extent. So, what are the symptoms of lung tumors after metastasis in the late stage?

When advanced lung tumors compress adjacent organs or tissues or metastasize to distant sites, they may cause:

①Compression or invasion of the phrenic nerve, causing paralysis of the ipsilateral diaphragm.

②Compression or invasion of the recurrent laryngeal nerve, causing vocal cord paralysis and hoarseness.

③ Compression of the superior vena cava causes venous distension in the face, neck, upper limbs and upper chest, edema of subcutaneous tissue and increased venous pressure in the upper limbs.

④ Invasion of the pleura can cause pleural effusion, which is mostly bloody.

⑤ Cancer invades the mediastinum and compresses the esophagus, which may cause dysphagia.

⑥ Upper lobe top lung tumor, also known as Pancoast tumor or superior pulmonary sulcus tumor, can invade and compress organs or tissues located at the upper opening of the thorax, such as the first rib supraclavicular artery and vein brachial plexus cervical sympathetic nerve, etc., causing chest pain, jugular vein or upper limb venous edema, arm pain and upper limb movement disorders, ipsilateral upper eyelid ptosis, pupil constriction, enophthalmos, facial anhidrosis and other cervical sympathetic nerve syndrome.
