Let's take a look at the common examination methods for esophageal cancer

The occurrence of esophageal cancer will affect the patient's life and endanger his health. If the patient does not combine the examination of esophageal cancer in time, his condition may become more and more serious. Therefore, everyone should understand the examination items of esophageal cancer in advance so that they can cooperate with regular treatment earlier. The following will introduce the specific methods of esophageal cancer examination.

Tests for esophageal cancer include:

(1) Esophageal CT scan: CT scan can clearly show the relationship between the esophagus and the adjacent mediastinal organs. Normally, the esophagus is clearly demarcated from the adjacent organs, and the thickness of the esophageal wall does not exceed 5 mm. If the thickness of the esophageal wall increases and the boundary with the surrounding organs becomes blurred, it indicates the presence of esophageal lesions. This is one of the examination methods for esophageal cancer.

(2) Exfoliative cytology examination of esophageal mucosa: This examination method for esophageal cancer is simple, less painful, and has a low false positive rate. Practice has shown that it is feasible to conduct large-scale surveys in areas with a high incidence of esophageal cancer. The overall positive rate can reach more than 90%, and it is also an examination item for esophageal cancer.

(3) X-ray barium meal examination: This examination can detect very early esophageal cancer, which is difficult to detect. Experienced radiologists will fully adjust the barium and ask the patient to swallow it in small sips at a time. They will then carefully observe from multiple angles and perform double contrast imaging of the esophageal mucosa. In most cases, they will find signs of early cancer, such as thickening, tortuosity, or dotted interruptions of the esophageal mucosa; hairiness on the edge of the esophagus; small filling defects; small niches; localized stiffness of the tube wall; or barium retention.

The above is the examination of esophageal cancer. I hope everyone can understand it one by one. As long as the examination method of esophageal cancer is combined as soon as possible, the patient can detect the disease in time and receive effective treatment at that time. Therefore, if you want patients to control the disease early, please refer to the examination method of esophageal cancer. I wish all patients can fight the disease to the end.
