Experts explain the symptoms of esophageal cancer at different stages of the disease

According to the severity of esophageal cancer, the entire course of esophageal cancer is divided into early, middle and late stages. The symptoms of esophageal cancer patients in these three stages are different, and the symptoms of esophageal cancer will become more and more serious. What are the common symptoms of esophageal cancer ? Let's ask the experts to tell you about the common symptoms of esophageal cancer.

Common symptoms of esophageal cancer include:

1. Early

1. The most common symptom of swallowing is choking. This symptom of esophageal cancer can disappear and recur on its own and does not affect eating. It often occurs when the patient's mood fluctuates, so it is easily mistaken for a functional symptom.

2. Food retention, infection and foreign body sensation When swallowing food or drinking water, symptoms of esophageal cancer include a feeling that food is moving slowly and being retained, a feeling of tightness behind the sternum or food sticking to the esophageal wall, etc., which disappear after eating. The site of symptom occurrence is often consistent with the site of lesions in the esophagus.

2. Mid-term

In addition to the same symptoms as the early stage, the symptoms of mid-stage esophageal cancer include: progressive dysphagia, pain behind the sternum when swallowing, and spitting up mucus-like sputum.

3. Late stage

Progressive dysphagia is the main symptom of most patients when they seek medical treatment, but it is a symptom of advanced esophageal cancer. Because the esophageal wall is elastic and has the ability to expand, dysphagia only occurs when about 2/3 of the esophageal circumference is infiltrated by cancer.

The above are the common symptoms of esophageal cancer. I believe everyone should know about them. If you have symptoms of esophageal cancer, you must go to the hospital for treatment immediately to avoid seriously delaying the disease and causing irreversible consequences.
