The body parts represented by the palms

According to traditional Chinese medicine, there are many acupoints on the body, and regular massage of these acupoints is very helpful in the treatment of diseases. Acupoints exist on our body, and there are many of them even on the palms. The acupoints on the palms correspond to various parts of the body. If you don’t understand the relevant knowledge, it will be difficult to know the location of the acupoints and their related functions.

Acupoint massage is a health massage based on the theory of traditional Chinese medicine. It mainly focuses on meridian acupoint massage. Its technique has strong penetration, can relax muscles, relieve fatigue, regulate body functions, and has the effects of improving body immunity, dredging meridians, balancing yin and yang, and prolonging life.

method

There are different massage techniques, but generally speaking, there are eight commonly used techniques: pressing, rubbing, pushing, holding, kneading, pinching, shaking, and hitting. It should be known that the above-mentioned eight techniques are not used in isolation, but are often used in combination with each other.

Tuina is a traditional Chinese medicine therapy that is currently the most commonly used to treat cervical and lumbar strain, relieve fatigue and tension, and other diseases. Among them, what is the principle of Chinese medicine acupoint massage? From the perspective of Western medicine, how do we understand acupoint massage?

“Acupoints” are key points where muscles, tendons, and bones connect

According to traditional Chinese medicine, the parts that Chinese medicine calls "acupoints" are the main treatment sites for massage and other therapies. They are more sensitive than other parts of the body, and the treatment effect will be better after massage.

There are also relevant studies in modern Western medical anatomy. Western medicine believes that the so-called acupoints are the key points where "muscles, tendons, and bones" are connected. By massaging these key points, the entire muscle will relax accordingly.

Wrong massage technique can cause pain

If you simply massage the skin, it will cause damage and the patient may feel pain. However, if you find the "key point" and pluck it a few times with skillful force, the whole person will relax.

This is why some people feel uncomfortable or even have pain all over the body the next day after a massage. This is because the massage technique is incorrect or excessive. A correct massage will only bring a comfortable and relaxing feeling.
