Symptoms of esophageal cancer metastasis

Symptoms of esophageal cancer metastasis

Postoperative metastasis of esophageal cancer can be treated with chemotherapy and Chinese medicine. Chinese medicine uses the Four Diagnosis and Eight Principles to conduct syndrome differentiation and analysis. Due to the complexity of tumor conditions, specific medications need to be formulated based on the patient's detailed condition. At the same time, the detailed condition information of Western medicine is referred to and the prescription and medication are prescribed.

Metastasis refers to the process by which malignant tumor cells escape from their primary site and are transported through various pathways to discontinuous tissues or organs to continue to proliferate and grow to form tumors. The metastasis of esophageal cancer is very complex, and the clinical manifestations of metastasis to different organs are also different. Common metastatic organs include peritoneum, liver, lungs, ovaries, brain, bones, etc.

1. Esophageal cancer peritoneal metastasis is mostly advanced esophageal cancer that has passed through the serosa, especially poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma. It is more common in early esophageal cancer. There are different degrees of abdominal obstruction and masses can also be found.

2. Liver metastasis of esophageal cancer occurs via the portal vein, and the main symptoms are often loss of appetite, weight loss, accompanied by liver enlargement and upper abdominal tumors.

3. Lung metastasis of esophageal cancer ranks second in organ metastasis, second only to liver metastasis. The main metastatic route is hematogenous metastasis. In the early stage, there are usually no symptoms or the symptoms are not obvious. In patients with carcinomatous pleurisy and pleural effusion, when the heart function is affected, the symptoms are very obvious.

4. Ovarian metastasis of esophageal cancer first manifests as ovarian enlargement, which is mostly ovarian solid cancer.

5. The typical symptoms of esophageal cancer bone metastasis are progressive local bone pain and percussion pain, often accompanied by anemia, fever, bleeding, and a few may have local masses or concurrent pathological fractures.
