What are the clinical manifestations of lymphoma

Lymphocytes can be found in the lymphatic tissues of tissues and organs throughout the body. Therefore, once cancer occurs, its clinical manifestations are related to each organ and are complex and diverse.

Lymph node enlargement: The main manifestation is superficial lymph node enlargement, which is smooth and tough, and feels like a ping-pong ball or the hardness of the nose tip. The most common lymph nodes are cervical and supraclavicular, followed by axillary and inguinal lymph nodes. A small number of patients have deep lymph node enlargement as the main manifestation, such as mediastinal, abdominal, and pelvic lymph node enlargement.

Local compression symptoms: Enlarged lymph nodes may affect or compress surrounding tissues and organs, causing corresponding symptoms. For example, large mediastinal lymph nodes may compress the superior vena cava, leading to blood reflux obstruction, manifested as swelling of the face and neck, chest tightness, chest pain, and difficulty breathing.

Compression or obstruction of related organs: Lymph nodes compress related organs outside the lymphatic system, which can cause related symptoms, such as gastrointestinal lymphoma, which can mimic stomach cancer

and intestinal cancer, symptoms such as abdominal pain, gastrointestinal ulcers, bleeding, obstruction, and compression may occur.

Systemic symptoms: About half of the patients may experience systemic symptoms such as fever, night sweats, fatigue, weight loss, lack of appetite, rash, itching, anemia, etc.

The symptoms of lymphoma are often not obvious and difficult to diagnose in the early stages. Therefore, regular check-ups are an effective measure to detect lymphoma early.
