What are the absolute risk factors for prostate cancer

The cause of prostate cancer has not yet been fully clarified, but the existence of some risk factors has indeed caused the incidence of prostate cancer to gradually increase. It is currently believed that the absolute risk factors for prostate cancer mainly include age, race, family history and pathological changes.

Age: Age is the main risk factor for prostate cancer. Prostate cancer is very rare in men under 45 years old, but the incidence rate increases sharply with age, and the vast majority of prostate cancer patients are over 65 years old.

Race: The incidence of prostate cancer is related to race. Data show that among the black population, the annual incidence of prostate cancer is as high as 300 per 100,000 people, while in European and American countries it is 200. The current incidence in China is 4 to 5 per 100,000 people, and it is increasing year by year.

Family history: It is rare for prostate cancer to be inherited among direct relatives, but prostate cancer tends to occur in certain families. This may be due to genetic factors or it may be due to the same living habits, the same living environment, and the same external interference among family members.

Pathological changes: The incidence of prostate cancer in men with high-grade prostate intraepithelial neoplasia is significantly increased. High-grade intraepithelial neoplasia is a precancerous lesion that shows abnormal cell growth morphology under a microscope. Although it is not cancer, it often indicates the presence of prostate cancer, which has not yet been detected.
