Methods for identifying gastric cancer

Methods for identifying gastric cancer

If gastric cancer occurs, the patient will usually suffer great pain, which seriously affects the physical and mental health and normal life and work. Therefore, it is best for everyone to understand the differential diagnosis methods of gastric cancer so that the disease can be diagnosed as early as possible and treated in time to avoid too much harm to the patient.

1. Differentiation from superficial gastritis

Superficial gastritis is usually accompanied by stomach pain, epigastric pain, loss of appetite, bloating, nausea and vomiting, acid reflux, etc. The onset of the disease is mostly related to factors such as emotions, improper diet, fatigue and cold, and often recurs, but it is not accompanied by cachexia signs such as extreme weight loss and fatigue. It can be distinguished from gastric cancer through gastroscopy or barium meal examination.

2. Differentiation from functional dyspepsia

Functional dyspepsia usually occurs after a meal, with symptoms such as upper abdominal fullness, belching, acid reflux, nausea, and loss of appetite. It can be diagnosed with the help of upper gastrointestinal tract X-ray examination, fiber gastroscopy, etc. This is also one of the differential diagnosis methods for gastric cancer.

3. Differentiation from damage to the stomach and intestinal plexus

If the stomach and intestines are damaged, blood will come out with the stool, or the stool will be tarry. These are the main clinical manifestations of the disease. It can be caused by a variety of gastrointestinal diseases. Stomach cancer blood in the stool is often accompanied by symptoms such as fullness or pain in the stomach, poor appetite, and weight loss. The stool is slightly black or purple-black, and may even be tarry. It often occurs continuously. The use of general hemostatic drugs is not ideal. Even if it stops temporarily, it will recur soon. In severe cases, it may even be accompanied by vomiting blood.

In summary, understanding the differential diagnosis methods of gastric cancer will help us diagnose and treat the disease more promptly, reduce the difficulty of treatment, reduce the patient's pain, and enable the patient to recover sooner.
