To prevent gastric cancer, you need to pay attention to the precancerous lesions of gastric cancer

Gastric cancer is a relatively common malignant tumor of the digestive tract in my country. Any cancer is a gradual evolution process. A very important point in the prevention of gastric cancer is to be alert to the precancerous lesions of gastric cancer to avoid canceration.

1. Chronic atrophic gastritis

Chronic atrophic gastritis is a common digestive system disease characterized by atrophy of gastric mucosal glands. In 1978, the World Health Organization listed it as a precancerous condition of gastric cancer. At the same time, the associated incomplete intestinal metaplasia and moderate to severe dysplasia are considered to be precancerous lesions of gastric cancer, especially those with intestinal metaplasia and dysplasia, with a cancer rate of up to 5.4%.

2. Remnant stomach

Gastric ulcer and other benign lesions may result in partial gastric resection after surgery, forming a residual stomach, which is a precancerous state of gastric cancer and is extremely unstable and prone to cancer. At present, the pathogenesis of residual gastric cancer is still unclear. The reflux of bile and pancreatic juice, excessive bacterial growth in the stomach, and the presence of nitroso compounds are the three main causes of residual gastric cancer.

3. Giant gastric mucosal folds

Giant gastric mucosal folds are also called hypertrophic gastric cancer. Microscopic observation shows that the patient's gastric mucosal folds are very large, and the grooves between the folds are very deep, resembling gyri. The surface of the mucosal folds is nodular and covered with thick mucus. Patients may have hypoproteinemia and edema. Although it is uncommon, about 10% of patients may develop cancer. X-ray examinations are often misdiagnosed as gastric lymphoma.
