What are the causes of skin cancer

The incidence of skin cancer is relatively low in my country, but in southern Australia, the incidence of skin cancer is 100 times that of my country. So, what are the causes of skin cancer?

1. Ultraviolet radiation. The interaction between ultraviolet radiation, human melanin protection and immune system function leads to the onset of skin cancer. The parts of the skin that are most exposed to ultraviolet radiation under sunlight are the head, face, back of the neck and hands, and skin cancer basically occurs in these parts.

2. Inflammatory stimulation. Skin cancer can occur and develop in scars, chronic ulcers, fistulas, sinuses, etc. People who are addicted to chewing tobacco or betel nuts are more likely to develop skin cancer in the oral area.

3. Chemical stimulation. People who have long-term exposure to arsenic, tar and asphalt are more likely to develop skin cancer. Chemical carcinogenesis can be divided into two periods, the initial period and the promotion period, which is closely related to the time of exposure to carcinogens.

4. Long-term radiation. People who work with radiation for a long time may suffer from radiation dryness due to neglect of protective measures, and eventually may develop skin cancer. In recent years, the improvement of radiation equipment and the progress of radiation technology, especially the strengthening of protective measures, have reduced the incidence of occupational skin cancer. However, patients who have received long-term radiation therapy may still develop skin cancer after several years.
