The cause of cervical cancer is still not completely understood. According to domestic and foreign reports, the incidence of cervical cancer is related to factors such as early marriage, early and disordered sexual life, early childbirth, frequent births, multiple births, economic conditions, race and geographical environment. In recent years, it has been found that infection with certain viruses such as herpes simplex virus type 2, human papillomavirus, human cytomegalovirus, etc. through sexual intercourse may have a certain relationship with the incidence of cervical cancer. 1) The relationship between cervical cancer and sexual life (1) Premature sexual activity and early marriage: Premature sexual activity refers to sexual activity before the age of 18, and early marriage refers to marriage before the age of 20. At this time, the lower reproductive tract of women is not yet fully developed and is more sensitive to the stimulation of carcinogenic factors. Once infected with certain bacteria or viruses, and stimulated by multiple men, it is easy to develop cervical cancer. (2) Multiple marriages: Statistics have confirmed that if a woman has sexual relations with multiple men, she is more likely to develop cervical cancer, while virgins are less likely to develop cervical cancer. 2) Exogenous influence on cervical cancer (1) The argument that high-risk men are the cause of cervical cancer has been taken seriously. Men whose spouses have penile cancer, prostate cancer or whose ex-wives have had cervical cancer are all high-risk men. Women who have sexual contact with high-risk men are more likely to develop cervical cancer. Jewish people rarely suffer from cervical cancer. Many studies have shown that the reason for the low incidence of cervical cancer may be related to the custom of Jewish male babies being circumcised after birth. (2) Data from paired surveys in 13 provinces and cities across the country, including Jiangxi, showed that those with phimosis or prepuce and a history of promiscuous sexual life had a significantly higher relative risk of cervical cancer, suggesting that these factors are related to the occurrence of cervical cancer. 3) Endocrine factors of cervical cancer (1) The relationship between sex hormones and female reproductive tract malignancies: Some people have suggested that sex hormones can promote the occurrence of cervical cancer. For example, in experiments on mice, it was observed that the use of estrogen can cause the occurrence of cervical squamous cell carcinoma in mice. However, there is no definitive evidence that exogenous estrogen can induce cervical cancer in humans. (2) Relationship with oral contraceptives: CardY, Kyriakos, Taylor, Wilkison, etc. proposed that oral contraceptives can increase the secretion of cervical mucous epithelium, leading to physiological endocervical hyperplasia and even polyp formation, which is called microglandular hyperplasia. This change is proportional to the dose of progesterone used. It can generally return to normal after stopping the drug, and no cases of cervical cancer have been found. 4) Relationship between infection and cervical cancer Cervical cancer is now classified as a sexually transmitted disease because its occurrence is closely related to some pathogens transmitted through sexual intercourse. |
