What are the early symptoms of breast cancer

1. A painless, single, small hard lump appears in the breast that is not easy to move. It is often found when bathing or changing clothes.

2. Sudden nipple retraction. This is caused by the cancer deep inside the nipple invading the mammary duct, causing it to contract and pull on the nipple.

3. The breast skin has orange peel-like or ulcerated changes. Cancerous masses invade lymphatic vessels and block them, causing local edema and skin bulges. Hair follicles are closely connected to subcutaneous tissue, so when edema occurs, many depressions appear at the hair follicles, forming the so-called "orange peel-like changes." Subcutaneous edema caused by cancer can easily lead to ulcers.

4. Abnormal discharge or bleeding from the nipple, and wounds that cannot heal for weeks. This is a local inflammatory reaction caused by cancer.

5. Sudden breast deformation, changes in breast size and nipple height, and loss of bilateral symmetry. This is caused by the cancer mass invading the milk ducts, causing them to shrink and pull the surface skin, making the breasts appear to lose their original symmetrical curves. Depressions deep in the skin often indicate the presence of cancer.
