Epidemiological research results suggest that chronic pancreatitis can develop into pancreatic cancer. Studies have shown that among 5,600 genes, 34 genes have reduced expression in patients with pancreatic cancer and chronic pancreatitis, 157 genes have increased expression in chronic pancreatitis, and 152 of these genes also have increased expression in pancreatic cancer. This study proves at the molecular level that there may be some connection between chronic pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer. In addition, basic research has shown that in obese patients with type 2 diabetes, there is an increase in insulin content. Insulin can promote the growth of pancreatic cancer cells in vitro or in vivo; the receptor activation of the factor produces a cell growth-promoting effect. The relationship between genes and the onset of pancreatic cancer is very complex, and the exact mechanism is still unclear. The occurrence and development of tumors is also a complex multi-stage process. Some people believe that this process takes 20 years and is caused by abnormal expression of multiple tumor-related genes or inactivation of many tumor suppressor genes. |
