What are the symptoms of cauliflower-type gastric cancer

Gastric cancer is a common disease in life, and its prevalence rate has been increasing year by year in recent years. Because its early symptoms are relatively hidden, many people relax their vigilance against gastric cancer. Once it is discovered, it is already in the middle or late stage. So what are the symptoms of gastric cancer? Let's take a look; the symptoms and signs of gastric cancer often vary depending on the location, type, size of the tumor, the early or late course of the disease, and whether there are complications or metastatic lesions. Most patients may have no symptoms in the early stages of the disease.

1. Stomachache: The pain is mainly in the pit of the stomach, and sometimes it is only upper abdominal discomfort or dull pain. The most typical pain is irregular and is not relieved by eating.

2. Loss of appetite: Loss of appetite, accompanied by weight loss, gradual emaciation, or bloating and belching after eating, aversion to meat, etc., are common symptoms of gastric cancer.

3. Nausea and vomiting: Since most gastric cancers are located in the pyloric antrum, symptoms of pyloric obstruction are quite common. Atypical early obstruction can cause a feeling of bloating after eating, mild nausea, and regurgitation, while typical mechanical pyloric obstruction causes gastric distension and vomiting. Vomitus is mostly food that has stayed in the stomach for too long, so it has a sour and rancid smell. Diffuse gastric cancer often does not have symptoms of obstruction and vomiting.

4. Upper gastrointestinal bleeding: Bleeding can occur in early gastric cancer, often manifested as tarry stools. In late gastric cancer, the amount of bleeding is large. If there is pyloric obstruction, coffee-colored or dark red blood is often mixed in the vomitus. The stool occult blood test is positive.

5. Other symptoms: diarrhea, constipation, low fever, edema, and general exhaustion. When the tumor ruptures or causes perforation of the stomach wall, complications such as massive bleeding and peritonitis may occur.
