Introducing some tips on preventing colorectal cancer

The chance of developing colon cancer is different for people of different age groups. For teenagers, since the intestines have strong self-repair functions, their chance of developing colon cancer is not high. But for the elderly, as long as there are some problems with their diet, which cause irritation to our intestines, it may lead to the occurrence of colon cancer.

How to effectively prevent colon cancer?

1. A high-fat, high-protein, low-fiber diet produces many carcinogens, which act on the large intestine for a long time, and will inevitably increase the incidence of colorectal cancer. Therefore, eat less or no foods rich in saturated fat and cholesterol, including: lard, butter, fatty meat, animal offal, fish roe, etc. Vegetable oil is limited to about 20-30 grams per person per day (about 2-3 tablespoons).

2. Do not eat or eat less fried foods.

3. Eat foods containing unsaturated fatty acids in moderation, such as olive oil, tuna, etc. Supplement more than 35 grams of dietary fiber every day.

4. Eat more foods rich in dietary fiber: konjac, soybeans and their products, fresh vegetables and fruits, seaweed, etc. Replace refined grains with some coarse grains.

5. Eat more fresh vegetables and fruits to supplement carotene and vitamin C. Eat walnuts, peanuts, dairy products, seafood, etc. in moderation to supplement vitamin E. Pay attention to the intake of foods rich in trace element selenium, such as malt, fish, and mushrooms.

Therefore, you should arrange your daily diet reasonably, eat more fresh fruits, vegetables and other foods rich in carbohydrates and crude fiber, appropriately increase the proportion of coarse grains and miscellaneous grains in the staple food, and avoid eating too fine or refined food.

Finally, experts pointed out that patients with colorectal cancer can eat more foods that have anti-cancer effects. However, although many processed foods appear to have anti-cancer effects, they may not actually have this effect. This is because no matter how natural the food is, the food processing process may cause it to contain a large amount of carcinogens.
