Nursing diagnosis after laryngeal cancer surgery

Nursing diagnosis after laryngeal cancer surgery

When people talk about cancer, they are really terrified. How much do you know about the treatment methods and nursing knowledge of laryngeal cancer? Here I will introduce the nursing diagnosis after laryngeal cancer surgery.

I don't know how much you know about laryngeal cancer. For the health of your family, let's learn about the nursing diagnosis of laryngeal cancer, such as:

1. Laryngeal tuberculosis

Early laryngeal cancer must be differentiated from it. Vocal cord cancer mostly originates from the front two thirds of the vocal cords. Laryngeal tuberculosis is mostly located in the back of the larynx, manifested by pale laryngeal mucosa, edema, and multiple superficial ulcers. The main symptoms of laryngeal tuberculosis are hoarseness and sore throat. Chest X-rays and sputum tuberculosis tests are helpful for differential diagnosis, but a biopsy is required for the final diagnosis.

2. Laryngeal papilloma

Symptoms include hoarseness and possibly breathing difficulties. Its surface is rough and light red, making it difficult to identify with the naked eye. Especially in adults, laryngeal papilloma is a precancerous lesion and requires a biopsy for identification.

3. Laryngeal amyloid tumor

Non-true tumors may be caused by amyloid degeneration of laryngeal tissue due to chronic inflammation, blood and lymphatic circulation disorders, and metabolic disorders. They are manifested as hoarseness. Examination shows dark red masses in the laryngeal chamber, vocal cords, or subglottis. They are smooth and difficult to be removed by forceps during biopsy. Pathological examination is required for differentiation.

4. Laryngeal syphilis

The lesions are mostly located in the front of the larynx, often with syphilitic tumors, followed by deep ulcers, and scar tissue formation after healing, resulting in laryngeal deformity. The patient has a hoarse but powerful voice and mild throat pain. Generally, there is a history of sexually transmitted diseases, and syphilis-related tests can be performed, which can be confirmed by biopsy.
