In vitro fertilization is a method of fertilization that uses medical intervention when a man and a woman do not have sexual intercourse. For some people with health problems or older people, IVF is a very good choice. However, many people find that there are many terms that they do not understand when doing IVF. One of the terms is “IVF cycle”. What does this mean? What is the IVF cycle? It's time to start developing. In vitro fertilization - embryo transfer (IVF-ET) is a technology commonly known as test tube baby. It refers to the whole process of removing eggs from women's ovaries, fertilizing them with sperm in vitro and culturing them for 3 to 5 days, and then transplanting the embryos that have developed to the egg cleavage or blastocyst stage into the uterine cavity to allow them to implant and develop into a fetus. Babies created using in vitro fertilization technology are called test-tube babies, and these babies can also grow in the mother's womb. The world's first test-tube baby was born in the UK in 1978, and the first test-tube baby in mainland my country was born in Beijing in 1988. In vitro fertilization technology can help infertile couples who are unable to conceive after conventional treatment to have a baby. People who undergo IVF surgery need to meet certain conditions to ensure the success rate of the surgery. In addition to being physically and mentally healthy and free of hereditary diseases, the couple should not be too old, especially the woman should not be over 40 years old. If the woman is too old, the ovaries' response to drugs will be reduced, the number of eggs will be small, and the quality of the eggs will also decrease. The fertilization rate and pregnancy rate will be reduced, and the miscarriage rate and fetal malformation rate will be higher than those of young women. In addition to the above conditions, you should also pay attention to the indications for in vitro fertilization. In clinical practice, IVF-ET is indicated for patients with infertility such as tubal infertility, unexplained infertility, endometriosis, male factor infertility (severe oligospermia or azoospermia in the male, who needs to obtain sperm through testicular or epididymal puncture), abnormal ovulation (no mature follicle growth after general ovulation induction treatment), and cervical factors, who are still unable to become pregnant after other conventional treatments. |
