Immunity is a very important part in modern medicine. It is the name of the body's resistance system to external viral invasion. Although immunity is invisible, it has a real impact on people's lives, because people with low immunity are often more susceptible to illness, which brings great crisis to the body. Although immunity is very powerful, many people still don’t quite understand its definition. Let’s take a look at what immunity is.

What is immunity?

Immunity refers to the body's ability to resist foreign invasion and maintain the stability of the internal environment. The air is filled with all kinds of microorganisms: bacteria, viruses, mycoplasmas, chlamydia, fungi, etc. When human immunity is insufficient, they can all become pathogens that catch the early morning shift. Although the human body will produce corresponding antibodies to different pathogens to resist reinfection, antibodies are specific and time-limited. For example, streptococcal antibodies can only protect the body from reinvasion by streptococci for a short period of time and cannot resist infection by other viruses.

Ways to improve immunity:

1. With the help of sleep. Sleep is closely related to human immunity. Good sleep can significantly increase the number of two types of lymphocytes in the body. When sleeping, the human body produces a sleep factor called muraic acid, which promotes the increase of white blood cells, the activation of macrophages, and the enhancement of the liver's detoxification function, thereby eliminating invading bacteria and viruses.

2. Stay optimistic. An optimistic attitude can maintain the human body in an optimal state, especially in today's society where people face great pressure. The huge psychological pressure will lead to an increase in hormone components that have an inhibitory effect on the human immune system, making it easy to be attacked by colds or other diseases.

3. Limit alcohol consumption. Do not drink more than 100 ml of low-alcohol liquor, no more than 250 ml of rice wine, and no more than 1 bottle of beer a day, because alcohol will have a negative effect on every part of the human body. Even though drinking wine can lower cholesterol, it should be limited to one glass a day. Excessive drinking can cause great damage to organs such as the blood and heart.
