What tests should be done for colorectal cancer

Colorectal cancer is not what people imagine. This disease is a malignant tumor that cannot be treated. In fact, if the disease is discovered early and reasonable treatment is given in time, the disease can be significantly improved. However, there are no typical symptoms in the early stages of the disease, and a diagnosis of colorectal cancer is needed to understand the condition. Let's take a look at what tests should be done for colorectal cancer?

1. Fecal examination: The large intestine is an important digestive organ in the human body, mainly storing feces. The fecal occult blood test can provide a clear diagnosis of the disease, but the method is simple and easy to use, and can be used as a means of screening, or can provide clues for early diagnosis.
2. Rectal examination: Under normal circumstances, the large intestine is located in the lower part of the digestive tract. Lower rectal cancer is much more common in my country than in foreign countries, accounting for 77% of rectal cancer. Therefore, most rectal cancers can be detected during rectal examination.
3. Sigmoidoscopy: A medical statistical survey found that 77% of patients in my country have tumors in the rectum and sigmoid colon. The commonly used sigmoidoscope tube is 30 cm long and can directly detect tumors in the anal canal, rectum, and below the middle section of the sigmoid colon.
4. Barium enema X-ray examination: In some cases, the patient's lesion occurs in the upper sigmoid colon or higher, and an X-ray barium enema examination is required. Ordinary barium enema X-ray examinations are prone to miss small colorectal cancers. It is best to use air-barium double contrast, which can improve the accuracy of radiological diagnosis.
