The main symptoms of bladder cancer

The main symptom of bladder cancer is hematuria. Hematuria is mostly caused by tumor rupture and bleeding. Hematuria can be more or less. When it is more, it can be seen with the naked eye. When it is less, red blood cells can only be seen under a microscope. Hematuria caused by bladder cancer is generally visible throughout the process, that is, the urine is bloody during the entire urination process, and the urine color often darkens at the end of urination.

It may be that the urine starts with blood and then turns clear, or the urine starts with clear and then turns into blood. Compared with hematuria caused by other diseases, hematuria caused by bladder cancer has two characteristics: one is painlessness, that is, when hematuria occurs, the patient does not have any pain or other discomfort symptoms, which is called painless hematuria in medicine. This is different from the pain in the kidneys and ureters often accompanied by hematuria caused by stones, and it is also different from the hematuria caused by cystitis, which is often accompanied by frequent urination, urgency, and pain when urinating. However, if the tumor is necrotic, ulcerated, or infected, bladder irritation symptoms such as frequent urination, urgency, and pain when urinating may occur. The second is intermittent, that is, hematuria occurs intermittently, can stop or alleviate on its own, and the interval between two hematurias can be several days or months, or even half a year, which can easily create the illusion that the hematuria has been cured and improved, and thus fail to seek medical attention in time.
Painless hematuria is the most important sign of bladder cancer. Almost all bladder cancer patients will have this signal first. If you can catch this signal and conduct timely examination, you can achieve early detection and early treatment, and achieve better results. If hematuria only occurs once or twice, and the patient does not pay attention to it, thinking that it is caused by fatigue or cold, it is not a big problem. This often makes the patient mistakenly believe that the hematuria has healed on its own and no further diagnosis and treatment is needed, thus losing the best time for treatment.
