What are the symptoms and manifestations of skin cancer

Since many patients do not know enough about skin cancer, they do not even know that they have skin cancer. Today we will introduce the symptoms of skin cancer in detail so that patients can make a diagnosis by comparing their own conditions. Skin cancer is a disease with a relatively high mortality rate in my country. It can occur in any part of the body. The early symptoms are hard nodules on the surface of the skin, with raised edges and a tendency to develop around. So what are the symptoms and manifestations of skin cancer?

There are three main types of skin cancer, and all three can be caused at least in part by overexposure to the sun's rays. Ultraviolet rays from the sun can damage the genetic makeup of skin cells, leading to precancerous changes and the growth of cancerous cells. Obviously, the top layer of the skin is the first to be affected. The three main types of skin cancer: basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and malignant melanoma, all develop in the top layer of the skin, called the epidermis.

Since the causes of skin cancer are very complex, what are the symptoms of skin cancer? The most common of the three types of skin cancer is basal cell carcinoma, which, if not treated early, will cause local tissue erosion, but will not spread to other parts of the body. Squamous cell carcinoma will spread if not treated properly. Fortunately, these two types of skin cancer grow slowly and are almost all curable. Squamous cell carcinoma is sometimes seen on the vulva of postmenopausal women, which is more difficult to treat.

Experts believe that early skin cancer often manifests as erythematous or papular lesions that are slightly higher than the skin surface, often accompanied by scaly desquamation or crust formation on the surface, and the symptoms are similar to benign skin diseases such as psoriasis, eczema, and inflammation. As the lesion develops further, certain characteristic signs will appear, such as a shiny, translucent papular nodule with bleeding on the surface and telangiectasia, or a scar-like fibrous plaque with a smooth surface and no obvious telangiectasia, ulcers, or bulges. Or there may be black, fused dots in the lesion.
