Nasopharyngeal carcinoma is one of the most common tumors in my country, and ranks first in the incidence of head and neck malignant tumors. In particular, the incidence rate in Guangdong ranks first in the country. The age of onset of nasopharyngeal carcinoma is mostly between 40 and 60 years old, and it is more common in men than in women. The five early symptoms of nasopharyngeal carcinoma recurrence are: 1. Nasal congestion: Nasal congestion is another early symptom of nasopharyngeal cancer. Most cases are unilateral. When the nasopharyngeal tumor grows, bilateral nasal congestion may occur. 2. Headache: When nasopharyngeal carcinoma is first diagnosed, more than half of the patients have headache symptoms. The headache symptoms of nasopharyngeal carcinoma are often manifested as unilateral persistent pain, mostly in the temporal and parietal areas. Most nasopharyngeal carcinoma headaches are related to cancer tissue invading the skull base bones, nerves and blood vessels, which is also an early symptom of nasopharyngeal carcinoma. 3. Tinnitus and hearing loss: Tinnitus, stuffy ears and hearing loss are also early signs of nasopharyngeal carcinoma. This symptom is caused by the nasopharyngeal neoplasm blocking the pharyngeal opening of the Eustachian tube on the affected side. Tinnitus and hearing loss are often misdiagnosed as otitis media or other diseases, which delays treatment. This is an early symptom of nasopharyngeal carcinoma and is relatively obvious. 4. Bloody nose and nose bleeding: Bloody nose is an early symptom of nasopharyngeal carcinoma, manifested as blood in the nose or bloody nose sucked back from the mouth. Bloody nose often occurs in the morning after getting up. When the amount of bloody nose is not large, it is often neglected by patients and mistaken for rhinitis or sinusitis, or is treated as hemoptysis and sent to the internal medicine department. 5. Swollen lymph nodes in the neck: Many nasopharyngeal cancer patients often seek medical attention after accidentally discovering a "lump" on their neck. This "lump" is actually an enlarged lymph node. Swollen lymph nodes in the neck of nasopharyngeal cancer patients are often misdiagnosed as inflammation. For neck lumps that do not shrink after anti-inflammatory treatment or even continue to grow rapidly, especially those that are hard, poorly mobile, and multiple fused together, and painless neck lumps, you need to seek medical attention in time. |
