A brief discussion on the hazards of esophageal cancer

In recent years, esophageal cancer has become one of the major diseases that endangers society and human health. Esophageal cancer, also known as esophageal cancer, is one of the common malignant tumors in humans. Studies have found that this disease often occurs in middle-aged and elderly people. It is relatively rare before the age of 35. After the age of 35, the incidence rate increases with age. So what harm will esophageal cancer do to our body?

1. Bleeding or vomiting blood. Some esophageal cancer patients have vomiting, and some esophageal cancer patients have vomiting blood due to tumor invasion of large blood vessels. Occasionally, there is heavy bleeding. According to reports, 24 of a group of 841 patients with esophageal cancer and cardia cancer had vomiting blood. The blood came from the cancerous ulcers of esophageal cancer, and the tumor eroded the large blood vessels in the lungs or chest. Vomiting blood is generally a clinical symptom of patients with advanced esophageal cancer.

2. Esophageal perforation Late-stage esophageal cancer, especially ulcerative esophageal cancer, causes perforation due to local erosion and severe ulceration of the tumor. Different symptoms may occur depending on the site of perforation and the adjacent organs.

Penetration of the trachea can cause esophageal tracheal fistula, resulting in choking and coughing when eating, especially when eating liquid food; penetration of the mediastinum can cause mediastinitis, resulting in chest tightness, chest pain, cough, fever, increased heart rate and increased white blood cell count; penetration of the lungs can cause lung abscess, resulting in high fever, cough, purulent sputum, etc.; penetration of the aorta can cause esophageal aortic fistula, which can cause massive bleeding and lead to death.

3. Aspiration pneumonia: Due to aspiration and aspiration pneumonia caused by esophageal obstruction, the patient may have fever and symptoms of systemic poisoning.
