Brain tissue softening

Brain tissue softening

There are very important brain tissues distributed in the human brain, and the role played by each brain tissue in the human body is also very important. If there is a problem with one of the brain tissues, it will affect the normal function of other brain tissues. However, there is a disease in the brain tissue called brain tissue softening, which mainly refers to the necrosis of brain tissue. So what are the treatment strategies for brain tissue softening?

What is encephalomalacia?

Brain softening lesions refer to various destructive lesions that can cause necrosis and softening of brain tissue, filling with cerebrospinal fluid, and forming cystic softening lesions. Common causes include cerebral hemorrhage, cerebral infarction, encephalitis and brain trauma. Once the softening lesions are formed, recovery is difficult, which is equivalent to the formation of multiple cerebral infarctions.

It is generally impossible to do interventional clearance. At present, we can only prevent his cerebral softening from getting worse, such as using some drugs, lipid-lowering anticoagulation, and increasing mental and psychological comfort. But we should pay attention to the recurrence of cerebral infarction, and control blood pressure if it is high.

Various destructive lesions can cause necrosis and softening of brain tissue, filling with cerebrospinal fluid, and forming cystic softening foci. Common causes include cerebral hemorrhage, cerebral infarction, encephalitis and brain trauma. Because brain tissue has a very high oxygen demand, once the artery is blocked, it will inevitably lead to softening of the supply area. Brain softening is also the infarction of other organs. The larger one is softening, the smaller one is a cavity, and most cavities are called lacunar state. The causes of softening and lacunar state include embolism, arterial thrombosis, arterial spasm, circulatory insufficiency and other causes. Softening can be divided into two types: anemic softening and hemorrhagic softening. Arterial obstruction can cause anemic softening and hemorrhagic softening, while venous obstruction is almost completely hemorrhagic softening. The pathological process of anemic softening can be roughly divided into three stages: necrosis stage, softening stage, and repair stage. The cells in the softening area have been necrotic, and the cells in the ischemic penumbra (semi-lunar area) are in apoptosis or pre-apoptosis state, with low function, and dysfunction of the nervous system and motor system may occur.

Causes of encephalomalacia

The main causes of softening foci in infants include thrombosis, arterial spasm, and circulatory disorders. There are two types of brain tissue softening: anemia and hemorrhagic. Anemia softening is caused by arterial blockage, while hemorrhagic softening is mainly caused by venous blockage. The development process of anemia softening includes three stages: necrosis stage, softening stage and repair stage. The cells of the softened tissue have already undergone necrosis and cannot be reversed.

Brain softening is caused by cerebral ischemia and necrosis, and this lesion cannot be restored.
