Early self-diagnosis of melanoma

Early self-diagnosis of melanoma

After the release of If You Are the One 2, people began to worry about some black or dark moles on their bodies, fearing that the bad luck of malignant melanoma would befall them. In fact, malignant melanoma is indeed a highly malignant skin cancer, but this tumor is more common in Caucasians. For example, the incidence of malignant melanoma in white people in Queensland, Australia can be as high as 28.4/100,000, while the incidence of malignant melanoma in my country is only 0.8/100,000.

Regardless of the incidence rate, if you can self-diagnose some moles and spots on your body, it will also make people feel at ease. If some pigmented skin lesions on the body have the following changes, you should be alert to the occurrence of early malignant melanoma:

First, look at the color: Most malignant melanomas can appear in brown, black, red, white, blue, etc., or mixed colors. If a mole or spot changes color, you should be vigilant and get a timely diagnosis.

Second, look at the edges: If the edges of the mole are jagged and serrated, it may be caused by the spread of the tumor or spontaneous degeneration, and it should be diagnosed in time.

Third, look at the surface: If the surface of the mole is not smooth, or is rough with scaly or flaky desquamation, or if there is exudation or bleeding, and the lesion is higher than the skin surface, timely examination should be carried out to diagnose or rule out malignant melanoma.

4. Look at the skin around the mole: the skin around the malignant mole and pigmented tumor may appear edematous or lose its original skin luster or turn white or gray.

5. Check whether there are any abnormal sensations: If there are abnormal sensations such as itching, burning pain or tenderness in the local area of the mole, you should also be vigilant.
