What are the symptoms of melanoma in pregnant women

What are the symptoms of melanoma in pregnant women? Melanoma is a relatively common skin disease. It occurs more often in middle-aged and elderly people, and more often in men than in women. It is more common in the lower limbs and feet, followed by the trunk, head and neck, and upper limbs. What are the symptoms of melanoma in pregnant women? Let's take a look at the following expert introduction.

Early symptoms of melanoma: initially, normal skin will have melanin deposition, or pigmented moles will have increased pigmentation and darker blackness, followed by the continuous expansion of lesions, increased hardness, and itching and pain. Some melanoma lesions are in the form of bulges, plaques, and nodules, while others are in the form of mushrooms or cauliflowers. When they grow into the subcutaneous tissue, they appear as subcutaneous nodules or lumps, and when they spread to the surrounding areas, star-shaped black spots or small nodules appear.

Common manifestations are regional lymph node metastasis of melanoma, and even regional lymph node enlargement leads to medical treatment. In the late stage, it metastasizes to the lungs, liver, bones, and brain through the bloodstream. Most malignant melanomas originate from melanocytes in normal skin. Malignant melanoma is rare in children, but can originate from very large pigmented nevi that are present at birth. Halo nevi usually disappear on their own but in rare cases they can become melanomas. Although melanoma is more likely to occur during pregnancy, pregnancy does not increase the possibility of pigmented nevi becoming malignant melanomas.

During pregnancy, moles often change in shape and size. The following danger signs indicate that a mole may become malignant:

Changes in size and color, such as redness, whiteness, or blueness, especially when the pigmented area spreads into the surrounding normal skin;

Changes in surface characteristics, changes in texture and shape;

The skin around the mole becomes inflamed and may experience bleeding, ulcers, itching, or pain.

What are the early symptoms of melanoma? It is mainly the deposition of melanin, and special attention should be paid to some signals from moles.

Color: Mottled color is a sign of malignant lesions. Freckles and superficial spreading types often have red, white or blue mixed with brown or black, and blue is particularly bad.

Edge: often jagged and serrated, due to the spread of the tumor or spontaneous degeneration.

Surface: not smooth, often rough with scaly flaky desquamation, sometimes bleeding and exudation, may be higher than the skin surface. Skin around the lesion: may become edematous or lose its original skin luster or turn white or gray.

Paresthesia: local itching, burning or tenderness.
